      <p class="para_topic">Lathe Thread allows you to cut both straight and tapered threads. They may be single or multiple threads which are either internal, external, or face threads (such as the thread advance used in a 3-jaw chuck).</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You must specify either the Pitch, Lead, or Threads Per Inch, and select a Crest Line and Root Line (or depth) in order to develop a thread tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Lathe Thread allows you to control the depth of roughing passes and the number and depths of Finish Passes. You can also assign OPSTOPS to Chase (spring) Passes.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You may control tool positioning motion and travel by specifying:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">the engage and retract angles (Infeed/Pullout),</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">a Minimum Clearance distance from the Crest Line for safe tool travel between passes, and</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">an offset distance to start and end the threading operation.</p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_topic">A line must be used to determine thread length and may be used to determine thread depth.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">In Thread, geometry is not retrieved when you use the Reinit option in Operation Parameters. The Crest Line and, if selected for the current operation, the Root Line and End Line are maintained.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You must set the Depth and Pitch parameters before generating a Thread tool path. If you attempt to generate a tool path before specifying these parameters, an appropriate error message displays (e.g., ERROR - NO PITCH SPECIFIED).</p>
