      </table><br><p class="para_topic">You select tracking points from within the operation. Before you proceed, make sure you have selected a tool for your operation.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Open the operation dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Machine</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Machine Control</b> dialog opens.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Define Tracking</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Tracking Selection</b> dialog opens. This looks very similar to the dialog for creating tracking points, but many parameters are unavailable. You can only change the value for the CUTCOM register in this dialog. All other parameters must be changed in the tool dialog.

            <p class="para_item">Select the check box beside the tracking point you want to use. This tracking point becomes the active one.</p>

            <p class="para_item">If you are using a grooving tool, you can check a second tracking point. You must then specify which one is the main tracking point by selecting it from the <b class="uiTerm">Main Tracking Point</b> option.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">For groove finish operations (down only cut strategy), you can select two tracking points. The software determines which tracking point is closest to the wall being machined and uses this tracking point. It continues to use this tracking point until it determines that the other tracking point is closer to the machining area. The switching of tracking points takes place at the beginning of the stepover traversal move when the tool is fully retracted above the part.</p>

            <p class="para_item">In the figure above, the system uses tracking point <img align="bottom" src="graphics/num_1.gif" border="0"> when it machines the left wall. It then retracts and begins the stepover traversal movement, <img align="bottom" src="graphics/num_2.gif" border="0">. During this move, the system switches to tracking point <img align="bottom" src="graphics/num_3.gif" border="0"> that it uses to machine the right wall.

                        <p class="para_note_body">You can specify two tracking points when you are using a grooving tool in a roughing or finishing operation only. You cannot select multiple tracking points in Teachmode.</p>
                        <p class="para_note_body">Do not change the tracking points of a library tool. Also, do not add tracking points in the tool definition dialog for a library tool.</p>
