      <p class="para_topic">The Cycle Option menu allows you to activate or cancel any one of several Point to Point cycle operations. The available cycle operations are as follows:</p>

      <p class="para_topic">No Cycle cancels any active cycle so that the system returns immediately to the Point To Point Parameters menu.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Peck Drill, and Break Chip generate a simulated drilling cycle at each CL-point. A simulated drilling cycle identifies the tool motions required by means of GOTO/ command statements rather than CYCLE/ command statements. The postprocesser generates actual tool motions based on these GOTO/ commands to position the tool, feed to depth in one or more increments, and reposition the tool for subsequent motions.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The remaining options (Standard Cycle options) generate the CYCLE/ command statement as selected from the menu at each of the specified CL-points.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The tool path contains one or more CYCLE/ command statements with appropriate parameters, GOTO/ command statements for each CL-point projected onto the part surface, and a CYCLE/OFF command statement at the end of the path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The CYCLE/ command statements generated by the Point to Point operation are compatible with the NX Graphics Postprocessor Module (GPM) postprocessors. Depending upon the target postprocessor, controller and machine tool, the Cycle type you choose causes the postprocessor to:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">generate code for all the tool motions in a CYCLE/ operation to be executed by the machine tool, or</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">generate GOTO/ command statements to define each of the tool motions and machine functions which simulate the desired cycle.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">When you specify a Cycle type from the Select Cycle Type menu, the system prompts you to select Cycle Parameters which specify details of how the tool is to perform the required operation.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Cycle Parameter Sets allows you to associate different values of Cycle Parameters with different points or groups of points in a tool path. This enables you, for example, to drill different holes to different depths while in the same tool path. After you indicate which Point to Point cycle you want to use, the system prompts you for the number of Parameter Sets you intend to define for that cycle operation or tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Enter the number of Cycle Parameter Sets you wish to define. You must define at least one Parameter Set. You may, if you wish, define as many as five sets of Cycle Parameters to be used within one tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">After you specify the number of Cycle Parameter Sets, the system prompts you to define the specific combinations of Cycle Parameters (based on the selected cycle) for each of these Cycle Parameter Sets.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Feed Rate</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Dwell</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Increment</p>

      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">Specify the parameters for Cycle Parameter Set 1 by choosing the appropriate options and entering appropriate values, or by choosing OK to accept the default values shown.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">After you choose OK, if you have specified only one Parameter Set to be defined, the system displays the Pt-Pt Params menu, this time reflecting the Cycle type you specified. If you have specified more than one Parameter Set to be defined, the system displays menus for each of the remaining Parameter Sets.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You may define Parameter Sets 2 through 5 in the same manner as you defined Cycle Parameter Set 1, changing none, one, or all of the cycle parameters.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">For Parameter Sets 2 through 5, choosing Copy Previous Parameter Set (activated at this point) copies (i.e., retrieves the values of) the previous Parameter Set and applies them in the current Parameter Set.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Example of Cycle Parameter Sets</div>
      <p class="para_division">Let us assume that you want to use a Standard - Drill Cycle to drill a series of holes, each one inch in diameter. Let us also assume that the first hole is to be three inches deep and the remaining holes are to be only two inches deep. The following example shows the definition and usage of Cycle Parameter Sets to accomplish this operation in one tool path.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the Cycle Type menu, choose Standard - Drill.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the number 2, indicating you want to use two Cycle Parameter Sets. The system displays the Cycle Parameters menu for your first Cycle Parameter Set (Parameter Set 1):</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Depth, and specify a tool shoulder depth value of 3. The system then displays the updated Cycle Parameters menu:</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose OK to accept the default values for the rest of the parameters. The system then redisplays the Cycle Parameters menu showing the original default values, thereby allowing you to define the parameter values you want for Cycle Parameter Set 2.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Depth again and specify a tool shoulder depth value of 2. Choose OK to accept the new depth value and the default values for the rest of the parameters on the menu. This time, the system displays the Pt-Pt Params menu allowing you to specify other parameters as needed.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Now you have defined the Parameter Set for two different Point to Point drilling cycle modes: one for holes three inches deep and one for holes two inches deep. Choose OK to exit the Pt-Pt Params menu, if desired. The system then prompts you to select CL-points with the Point-To-Point Geometry menu.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">After you select a Cycle to use, the system prompts you for the number of Cycle Parameter Sets you intend to use. Next, the system then prompts you for specific Cycle Parameters to be associated with each Parameter Set.</p>
      <p class="para_division">After you define the Cycle Parameters, choose OK. The system redisplays the Pt-Pt Params menu, this time showing Standard - Bore as the current cycle type. You may define more parameters as needed, or if you choose OK, you may define the points to be machined.</p>
