      <p class="para_topic">Swarf allows you to set the tool axis parallel to the surface at each contact point.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Selecting Swarf causes the system to display four direction vectors at the center of the first surface selected. Use the screen cursor to select the tip of the vector that points away from the tip of the tool toward the tool holder.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> NOTE: If, from a previous operation, the tool axis type was set to Swarf, and you are now machining different geometry, then the swarf direction should be respecified before generating the tool path. If this is not done, the orientation of the cutter will probably be incorrect, since the orientation depends upon the geometry. This can happen if a parameter set is retrieved from within an operation, or if the geometry is respecified after Swarf was selected, or when the settings from the last operation are used to initialize a new one.</p>
