<h3>Punch</h3>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>This option allows you to define how the Punchpress
 will Punch (CYCLE/PUNCH or CYCLE/AVOID), Nibble (CYCLE/STEP or CYCLE/SCALOP),
 and Position.</p>

<ul>

	<li class=kadov-P-CNote><p CLASS=Note><span style="font-weight: bold;">NOTE:</span>
 The Punch parameters must meet the requirements of NX.</p></li>
</ul>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>You can create three types of punch MDFs. The <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">Nibble </span>(CYCLE/STEP, CYCLE/SCALOP)<span
 style="font-weight: bold;"> Output Type</span> determines the manner in
 which the GPM formats the output to control Nibbling, Punching, Positioning.</p>

<h5>Postprocessor Generate All Punch Locations</h5>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The postprocessor determines the step size from the
 STEP or SCALOP parameters and generates punch locations for all linear
 and circular tool paths. When you select this option you can set the validity
 and value for the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Nibble</span> (CYCLE/STEP,
 CYCLE/SCALOP) parameters and the <span style="font-weight: bold;">Single
 Punch</span> (CYCLE/PUNCH) parameters.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph><span style="font-weight: bold;">Nibble</span> generates
 a continuous punch mode initiated with the commands CYCLE/STEP or CYCLE/SCALOP.
 You can set the following Nibble parameters:</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">Linear Interpolation
 Nibble G Code</span> - Enter the value which represents the G code assignment
 for LINEAR INTERPOLATION NIBBLE, usually G01.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">Circular Interpolation
 Clw</span> (or <span style="font-weight: bold;">CCLW</span>)<span style="font-weight: bold;">
 Nibble G Code</span> - Enter the value which represents the G code assignment
 for CIRCULAR INTERPOLATION CLW (or CCLW) NIBBLE.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">G </span>(or <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">M</span>) <span style="font-weight: bold;">Codes
 To Turn On Nibble Mode</span> - These codes are any codes that the controller
 needs to output before nibbling can take place. They are output immediately
 before the nibbling G code (i.e., the previous two options). These are
 any codes that the controller needs before single punch or positioning
 mode can take place. You can define two M codes and two G codes to turn
 Nibbling On.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">G </span>(or <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">M</span>) <span style="font-weight: bold;">Codes
 To Turn Off Nibble Mode</span> - These codes are output when single punch
 or positioning is needed and the current mode is nibbling. You can define
 two M codes and two G codes to turn Nibbling Off.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">G </span>(or <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">M</span>) <span style="font-weight: bold;">Codes
 For Initial Punch</span> - The first motion of any nibbling cycle is to
 position and punch the first hole. Use these codes are used to initiate
 the motion if needed for the machine tool.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">Define The Minimum
 And Maximum Distance Between Punch Centers For Nibble</span> - Enter the
 numeric value which represents the minimum and maximum distance between
 punches for the nibble cycle. These limits can be violated when the GPM
 uses the scallop height and tool radius to determine the distance between
 punches.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">Circle Center Reference
 Block G Code</span> -Enter the G code to indicate how the circle center
 coordinates are interpreted. See the CIRCULAR INTERPOLATION MOTION PARAMETERS
 section on page 1-37 for a description of these options.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph><span style="font-weight: bold;">Single Punch</span>
 generates a punch cycle which positions to a location and punches a single
 hole at the programmed CL points. You can set the following <span style="font-weight: bold;">Punch</span>
 parameters:</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">G</span> (or <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">M</span>)<span style="font-weight: bold;">
 Codes To Punch Single Hole</span> - Use these codes to punch a single
 hole (without nibbling). You can define two M codes and two G codes to
 punch a single hole.</p>

<p CLASS=ListBulletTxt><span style="font-weight: bold;">G </span>(or <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">M</span>)<span style="font-weight: bold;">
 Codes To Position And Don't Punch</span> - Use these codes to position
 <span style="font-style: italic;">without </span>punching. You can define
 two M codes and two G codes to position <span style="font-style: italic;">without
 </span>punching a single hole. GOHOME and RAPID will generate this type
 of motion.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>After you set the Nibble or Single Punch options, specify
 whether a rotary punch is used. The ATANGL minor word on the CYCLE command
 defines the orientation of the punch. When you select this option you
 are prompted to define the format definition of the Word Address code
 that defines the orientation angle. Then specify the number of hits (punches)
 per minute that the GPM users for time calculations.</p>

<h5>Controls Interpolates to Programmed C1 Positions</h5>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The postprocessor determines the step size from the
 STEP or SCALOP parameters and outputs the values to tape. The endpoint
 of the arc or linear motion is output and the control nibbles to the end
 point. When you select this option you have an additional option of specifying
 Circular Interpolation parameters. See the Circular Interpolation Motion
 Parameters section on page 1-37 for a description of these options.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>This option is similar to the previous option except
 that you must specify the format for the Distance Between Nibble Punch
 Centers.</p>

<h5>Controls Interpolates to Programmed C1 Positions, Output is Radius,
 Angle (Amada)</h5>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The postprocessor determines the step size and outputs
 the values. In this case the endpoint of the arc or linear motion is the
 radius and angle. This option is specific for the Amada Punch Press.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>This option is similar to the previous option except
 that you must also specify the Word Address code format for Radius Parameter
 For Nibbling, Circular Nibbling Start Angle, Circular Angle Delta Degrees,
 and Pitch Diameter. You must also specify whether the tool is driven <span
 style="font-weight: bold;">Tangent To</span> or <span style="font-weight: bold;">On</span>
 part geometry.</p>
