      <p class="para_topic">In the following steps you will create three Mill Orientation groups. Each Mill Orientation group defines the MCS and associated clearance plane necessary to machine a specific side of the Part. The TOP group for example, will be used by all operations (facing, roughing, finishing, drilling) that machine the top of the Part.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose the MCS button (a above).</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose WORKPIECE in the Parent option menu of the Create Geometry dialog box (b above). This specifies that you wish to create the MCS group inside of the WORKPIECE group.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Type in the word TOP in the Name field (c). This is the name of the MCS group that will appear in the Operation Navigator.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Apply (d above). This displays the MCS dialog box that enables you to specify the location and orientation of the MCS and the clearance plane associated with the TOP Mill Orientation group.</p>

                  <p class="para_item">The MCS, MCS Origin, and MCS Rotate buttons enable you to create and manipulate the MCS in many different ways. For this example, choose the MCS button and then the option Two Vectors that appears in the subsequent dialog.</p>
               </li>

                  <p class="para_item">Select the two edges illustrated below (edge 1 and edge 2) in the order indicated and at approximately the same locations as illustrated (select them at the ends farthest from their intersection) to define the X and Y MCS axes.</p>

                        <p class="para_item">Toggle Clearance (a above) to the On position and choose Specify (b). This displays the Plane Constructor dialog box which enables you to create a &quot;smart&quot; clearance plane associated with the defining geometry. Create a clearance plane that is offset from the top face of the Part .25&quot; as illustrated above. The MCS dialog box should still be displayed after creating the clearance plane so you can perform the next two steps.</p>

                        <p class="para_item">Change the view layout so that the Part is displayed as illustrated below.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose Save Layout/Layer (c above). This will save the currently displayed layout with the TOP group. Later on, you will be able to easily retrieve this layout.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Choose OK (d) to complete the TOP Mill Orientation group. The TOP group has been created inside of the WORKPIECE group.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">Repeat the steps above to create two more Mill Orientation groups for a total of three groups as illustrated below. Name the groups Right and Front. Define a clearance plane for each MCS .25 inch away from the Part surface as you did for the first MCS. Be sure WORKPIECE is selected as the parent for each MCS. Finally, remember to change and save the view layouts to include a front view and a right view in the corresponding Front and Right MCS groups.</p>

            <p class="para_item">The Operation Navigator should now contain the TOP, FRONT, and RIGHT Mill Orientation groups as illustrated below. Remember, the order in which the three groups are displayed in the Geometry view of the Operation Navigator does not matter. What does matter is that all three groups are contained inside of the WORKPIECE group. If you wish, you may Cut and Paste so that your groups are ordered exactly as they appear in these illustrations.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Choose Cancel in the Create Geometry dialog box. This will close the dialog.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
