<h1>INSERT</h1>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The INSERT option allows you to define the format of
Control In and Control Out codes used with the INSERT postprocessor command.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The GPM cannot convert some characters directly from
the CLSF into machine code. These characters are unprintable characters.
You can pass these characters through the GPM by using their EIA or ISO
octal values. The octal values must be contained within angle brackets
 ( &lt; &gt; ) to differentiate them from text.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>For example, you might want a Control-C in your NC tape.
There is no printable character for Control-C, however, you can still
put it in the NC tape as follows:</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph

style="font-weight: normal;"> </span>The structure and validity of function
codes output using INSERT is not checked by the GPM.</p></li>

<h1><a NAME=lintol></a>LINTOL</h1>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The LINTOL option allows you to define the linearization
tolerance used for motion on four and five axis machine tools using a
rotary axis. When used in the MILL mode (POLAR) of a production center/lathe-mill,
the LINTOL option generates intermediate points to keep any path deviations
 within the specified tolerance.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>When the movement of the machine, such as when the table
rotates while the tool axis changes simultaneously, linear moves are sometimes
output as arcs. If the arc causes the tool to deviate from the intended
path by more than the linearization tolerance, the GPM outputs intermediate
Goto points to remain within tolerance.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>You are prompted to enter a numerical value which represents
 the linearization tolerance.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The tolerance you specify is used when the GPM encounters
the LINTOL/ON command in the CLSF. If the GPM encounters the LINTOL command
with a value (LINTOL/n) that value overrides the value specified in the
 MDF.</p>
