      <p class="para_topic">The cut parameter <b class="uiTerm">Blank Distance</b> is common to Cavity Milling, Planar Milling, and Face Milling.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic"><b class="uiTerm">Blank Distance</b> is the offset distance applied to the part boundary or part geometry to produce the blank geometry.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Cavity milling</div>
      <p class="para_division">The blank distance is applied to all of the part geometry. Prior to geometry groups, you could use this instead of selecting a blank to define the remaining material as a constant thickness on the part.</p>
      <p class="para_division">For Cavity Milling, the preferred way to specify the blank distance is to use a mill geometry group. Several cavity milling operations can then be placed in the group and share the geometry. A mill geometry group is also required if you want the cavity milling operations to use the <b class="uiTerm">In-process Workpiece</b> (IPW) option.       <div class="title_division">Planar milling</div>
      <p class="para_division">The default blank distance is applied to a closed part boundary. Use <b class="uiTerm">Blank Distance </b> instead of a blank boundary to specify a constant distance larger than the part. &nbsp;This is useful when working on a casting or a part that has a constant thickness of material to be removed. 
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Face milling</div>
      <p class="para_division">Blank Distance defines the total thickness of material, measured above the plane of the selected face geometry and along the tool axis, to remove. Use <b class="uiTerm">Blank Distance</b> with:&nbsp;
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Final Floor Stock</b> to determine the actual thickness of material to remove.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Depth of Cut</b> to determine how many cut depths will be generated at each face.
            </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
