      <p class="para_topic">Step Tolerances allows you to set two variables that determine surface roughness.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Stepping</div>
      <p class="para_division">Stepping refers to the maximum allowable chordal deviation between two successive tool contact positions in the direction of the cut. The stepping tolerance value controls the number of contact points generated.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Scallop Ht</div>
      <p class="para_division">Scallop Height controls the distance between parallel passes according to the maximum height of material (scallop) you specify to be left between passes, given the cutter radius and the curvature of the surface. The system calculates a new step distance for each pass across the surface to stay within the specified scallop height.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> NOTE: The Zig-Zag cut type uses one straight line move to step from the end of one pass to the beginning of the next. Therefore, surface violations may occur depending upon the curvature of the surface and the Step Tolerances settings. To avoid the surface violation, increase the number of stepovers by changing the scallop height or use the Zig cut type (which causes the tool to retract at the end of each machining pass).</p>
