      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Edit allows you to redefine various parameters related to the boundary. The edited geometry is a two axis boundary, the bottom boundary of a four axis wire frame boundary or the bottom boundary of a four axis solid. </p>

               <p class="para_td">The Type setting allows you to select the type of existing boundaries as either Open or Closed. When you select closed, the system attempts to extend the first and last members to form a closed boundary. Refer to Manufacturing General-&rarr; Boundaries-&rarr; Permanent Boundaries-&rarr; Create-&rarr; Boundary Type for a detailed explanation of Open and Closed Boundaries.</p>
               <p class="para_td">The method of generating an open and closed boundary in WireEDM is different than in other machining operations. To define a closed boundary, you must select a group of curves or faces that connect into a closed loop.</p>

               <p class="para_td">A closed boundary can be made from a closed loop, but not from an open loop. The system defines an open loop as an open boundary. </p>
               <p class="para_td">You may select either an open or closed boundary to run any of the trim operations. For External Trim, Internal Trim, or Internal No Core operations when you specify an open boundary, the system overrides that request and closes the boundary. The system closes the boundary by connecting the two ends of the boundary with a straight line.</p>

When you select Closed for the Type, select either Inside or Outside from the Material Side options. If you select Open for the Type, select either Left or Right &nbsp;from the Material Side options.
