      <p class="para_topic">Once you have created a K-component, it is possible to assign movement to this component. Do this by defining an axis for this component. Any movement is then carried out either along this axis or around it. If a K-component moves, then all K-components under it in the hierarchy also move. You can assign two types of axes to a K-component:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Linear axes</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Rotary axes</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">Each NC axis has a unique visual representation for ease of identification. The <b class="uiTerm">Edit Axis</b> dialog allows you to quickly define and edit the axes. To open this dialog:
      </p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Right-click on the desired K-component in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Axis</b>. If the K-component already has an axis, then a yellow cone arrow is drawn in the graphics window as soon as you select the component in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b>. This indicates the axis direction and type (linear or rotary). 
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Name</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">Specify the name of the axis. This name is used by the machine tool driver to address the axis for motion input.</p>
               <p class="para_td">To be compatible with the CSE example MCF and CCF files, name the NC axes &ldquo;X&rdquo;, &ldquo;Y&rdquo;, &ldquo;Z&rdquo;, &ldquo;A&rdquo;, &ldquo;B&rdquo;, or &ldquo;C&rdquo;.</p>
            </td>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Junction</b></p>
            </td>

               <p class="para_td">Select any of the defined junctions that currently exist in your model.</p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Select Junction</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">In addition to the <b class="uiTerm">Junction</b> list, you can also select the junction directly in the graphics window. The <b class="uiTerm">Select Junction</b> button opens the <b class="uiTerm">Class Selection</b> dialog which allows you to select a coordinate system on the screen. The dialog is pre-configured so you can only select a CSYS type. Furthermore, only a junction coordinate system is accepted.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Axis of Junction</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">You can specify the NC axis direction by choosing an axis of the coordinate system from the previous point. You can select either the positive or negative X, Y, Z directions. The selected axis is shown by a yellow cone head in the graphics window. </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Type of Axis</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">Assign linear (along an axis) or rotary (around an axis) movement to the K-component. If you choose <b class="uiTerm">Rotary</b>, an additional circle appears at the cone head.
               </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">NC Axis</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">Specify the XYZ linear axes and the ABC rotary axes. You can specify up to five of these &ndash; three linear and two rotary. </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Initial Value</b></p>

            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">This allows you to specify the modeled (home) axis position distinctly from its zero position. Model an axis in its home position so that parts can be mounted on the machine without interference, then set the initial value of the axis to define how far the axis must move to be at its zero location </p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Axis Limits</b></p>

               <p class="para_td">Limit the rotary movement of the K-component to between the upper and lower values you enter. The system checks these values during the simulation and issues a warning if they are exceeded.</p>
               <p class="para_td">This option unavailable for linear axes.</p>
            </td>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Step Size</b></p>
            </td>
            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">Specify the step size for a single step motion when testing the axis. This is temporary data for axis testing.</p>

               <p class="para_td"><b class="uiTerm">Current Value</b></p>
            </td>
            <td colspan="1" rowspan="1" valign="top">
               <p class="para_td">Display the current axis value during testing. You can also input a value directly, press return, and the component jumps to that position. If the component is at its design position, the axis value is zero. This is temporary data for axis testing. </p>
            </td>
