      <p class="para_topic">You use the <b class="uiTerm">Feature Group Dialog</b> to create or edit a feature group. The dialog has items to customize for feature identification, classification, reclassification, selection, and accessibility.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can activate the <b class="uiTerm">Feature Group Dialog</b> from the Create Geometry dialog or from the Geometry View in the Operation Navigator, however it can be activated from the Manufacturing Create toolbar only if &quot;Create Feature Groups&quot; in Preferences -&gt; Manufacturing -&gt; Geometry Tab is NOT checked. &nbsp;

      <div class="title_division">Feature Type</div>
      <p class="para_division">On the <b class="uiTerm">Feature Group Dialog</b> the <b class="uiTerm">Feature Type Item</b> lists the feature names in the part geometry of the workpiece. Select a feature name from this list.

      <p class="para_division">You can define one process template and apply it to features with different names and attributes. You can also reuse common cut strategies on features that have the same characteristics but come from different sources</p>

      <div class="title_division">Classification Criteria</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Classification Criteria field shows all the attributes of the selected feature in the Feature Type. Check one or more of the attributes to be used as the classification criteria. These attributes come from: KF attributes, feature expressions, and UDAs.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Once you have selected the attributes, the status line tells you how many groups have been found. </p>
      <p class="para_division">Move your cursor into the Graphics Window to select a group. When your cursor moves over a feature, the entire group that the feature belongs to is highlighted. Click to select the group you want. </p>
      <div class="title_division">Reclassify</div>
      <p class="para_division">Use the Reclassify button if you want to delete the group and classify the features again. This button classifies the features based on the currently selected criteria and the accessibility vectors.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Feature Selection </div>
      <p class="para_division">Clicking the<a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgholemaking/feat_select_dial.html');return(false);">Feature Selection</a> button displays a dialog that is explained further in the above link.
      </p>
      <div class="title_division">Accessibility Vectors </div>
      <p class="para_division">An important piece of information about a feature is the direction from which it can be machined. Each feature can include the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgholemaking/feature_access_vect.html');return(false);">accessibility vectors</a>. These vectors are used to determine if a feature can be included in a feature group. If the tool axis matches any of the accessibility vectors, it is included in that feature group. If it does not match any of the accessibility vectors it is not included.
      </p>
      <p class="para_division">If the tool axis in the MCS group is set to All Axes then all the features, regardless of their accessibility vectors, are included in the group. </p>
      <p class="para_division">Under Accessibility Vectors, click the Select button to display a dialog that is explained further in the above link. </p>
      <div class="title_division">Geometry Parent Rule (KF)</div>
      <p class="para_division">This String parameter allows you to automatically assign new feature groups that have been created by the template to different geometry parents (MCS, Workpiece) based on feature information using a Knowledge Fusion rule. Use the parameter if the setup requires multiple MCS and the features carry enough information to automatically determine the matching MCS parent. Such information could be, for example, the direction of the feature or an attribute that determines the parent of the feature group during evaluation. The Feature Group must be adopted to KF in order to access the geometry_parent parameter also in the <b class="uiTerm">KF Navigator</b>.  
      </p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">Note: It is not possible to split features within one feature group and assign them to different parent MCS. To accomplish this, you must also classify the features accordingly in order to create separate feature groups which then can be assigned to their specified parents.  <br>Parent groups must exist prior to template application. If a parent does not exist, the feature group will be created under the selected parent in the <b class="uiTerm">Create Geometry </b>dialog.

      <div class="title_division">Feature Types (KF)</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can use one process template (feature type template) and assign it to features with different names and attributes. Usually features are identified and processed by their type (feature name). This capability allows you to add feature names to a list in order to reuse common cut strategies on features that share the same characteristics but come from different sources. In the dialog, in the <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> field, add a feature name and select the check button to add it to the <b class="uiTerm">Feature Types</b> list. The Feature Group must be adopted to KF in order to access the corresponding parameter (feature_types).
