      </table><br><p class="para_topic">You can create avoidance geometry at both the group and the operation level. Any avoidance geometry created at the group level is inherited by the operation.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Setting Avoidance Geometry at the Group Level</div>

            <p class="para_item"><a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/turn_geom_select_geom.html');return(false);">Open the <b class="uiTerm">Create Geometry</b> dialog</a>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_create_avoidance.gif" border="0"> (<b class="uiTerm">Avoidance</b>). 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the parent group in the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Navigator</b> under which the avoidance group should be created. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Enter a new name for the avoidance group.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Avoidance</b> dialog opens.
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Enter all the avoidance parameters that the operations within the avoidance group have in common. For information on each parameter, see <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/turn_geom_avoid_ops.html');return(false);">Avoidance dialog box options</a>.

            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. The new avoidance group now appears in the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Navigator</b>.

      <div class="title_division">Setting Avoidance Geometry at the Operation Level</div>
      <p class="para_division">Individual, operation-specific avoidance geometry is set at the operation level. If you create an operation within an avoidance group, that operation inherits all avoidance geometry from the parent avoidance group. You can either modify this avoidance geometry or add to it from within the operation, as follows:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Open the operation dialog or create a new operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Avoidance</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter all the avoidance parameters for the operation in the <b class="uiTerm">Avoidance</b> dialog. If the operation is contained within an avoidance group, some of those parameters may already be set. You can modify these parameters for this specific operation. This has, however, no effect on the parameters at the group level. 
            </p>

      <p class="para_division">When you generate the operation, the tool path takes the avoidance geometry into consideration. If the operation you modified is contained within an avoidance group, the tool path takes both the inherited and the operation's avoidance parameters into consideration.</p>
