The Create Program dialog allows you to create Program groups. These Program groups can be seen as containers for various operations. Program groups become Program Parents when you place operations in them in the Operation Navigator.

The Create Program dialog options are explained below:

The Type drop down list allows you to select the template part that you are using. Most of the template parts contain program templates.

The Subtype is the type of program group "programs" are used to group operations for output.

The Parent Group drop down list box allows you to select the previously defined parent groups. The system creates the program in the parent group you select.

The Name field allows you to select your own name for the program group, helping you to organize your program in a way that works for you.

The Program Parents, which you have created in the Create Program dialog, are used to specify the order of operations for output of CLS files and/or postprocessing. It is suggested practice to have numerous Program Parent Groups created, naming them according to the programs that are being output. For instance, if you were drilling and milling the top and bottom of an injection mold plate with two programs, you could name the Program parent for the top of the plate: Top_of_mold_plate, and for the bottom of the plate: Bottom_of_Mold_plate. All operations created for the top of the plate could be assigned to Top_of_mold_plate, those for bottom, Bottom_of_mold_plate. When you are ready to generate your output, selection of the Program Parent selects all of the operations assigned to that parent group.
