      <p class="para_topic">This option specifies how the postprocessor behaves when the system reaches a rotary axis limit. The postprocessor has two options, it can either give a warning or retract, rotate then re-engage.</p>

               <p class="para_th">means that your post performs the following:</p>

                     <p class="para_item">Retracts to clearance cylinder or sphere</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">Repositions the rotary axis to valid positions if possible</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">Re-engages to a user-defined distance above the part</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">Feeds to the previous position</p>
                  </li>
                  <li>
                     <p class="para_item">Moves the programmed end point</p>
                  </li>
               </ul>
               <p class="para_th">To change the default retract or re-engage distance you need to modify a custom command. Under Program and Tool Path &rarr; Custom Command select the custom command PB_CMD_init_rotary.&nbsp;Modify the following lines to change how this functionality behaves:</p><pre class="indent">set mom_kin_retract_plane &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;10.0

                        <p class="para_td">The feed rate for the retraction will take place at the retract feed rate, the feed rate for the move to the re-engage point will take place at approach feed rate and the move from the re-engage point back to part will take place at the engage feed rate.</p>

                        <p class="para_td">defines the method that will be used to calculate the retract point. DISTANCE means that the retract will always be a fixed distance along the spindle axis regardless of the machine tool type. PLANE means that the retract will be to a sphere, plane or a cylinder depending on the machine tool type.</p>

                        <p class="para_td">defines the distance from the center of rotation that the tool will retract when the PLANE option is selected. For a fourth axis head machine tool the retraction will be a cylinder. &nbsp;For a five axis head machine tool the retraction will be to a sphere. For rotary tables the retraction will be to a plane along the spindle axis.</p>
