Static Material Removal Mode of Visualize displays the resultant part after one or more tool paths has been removed. It is a very fast method used to display the IPW that results from the operation. It is displayed as faceted sheets, which can be displayed using pan/zoom/rotate functions. These can be saved as NX entities. Static, however, does not include animation or tool display, nor can you use it as input to subsequent operations.

Static Material Removal uses the previous state of the material or a blank as a starting shape. If you do not have a blank defined, the system helps you to quickly create one. To create this the system gives you two options: Offset from Part, or Auto Block. Offset from Part applies a thickness to the entire part, and is commonly used for castings. Auto Block puts a minimum box around the part. You can control the size of this block by either using your mouse to drag the handles on the part or by entering a value in the value field.
