      <p class="para_topic">If you have completed Steps 1 and 2, you are now ready to create the kinematics model with all its components:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Open the my_machine_tool.prt file. This file is the parent assembly file of your entire machine tool model. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Start the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Builder</b> application by selecting <b class="uiTerm">Application</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Builder</b> from the menu bar.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> icon from the resource bar.

            <p class="para_item">The <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> opens. Since you have not yet defined the kinematics model, only NO_NAME appears in the navigator tree. This is a place holder for the kinematics name.

            <p class="para_item">Click twice, slowly, on NO_NAME in the navigator tree to change the name and enter the name you want to call the kinematics model. In our example, we use FIVEAX_XY-TAB_Z-HD_AB-ROT_HOR where:</p>

            </table><br><p class="para_item">You are now ready to insert a machine base component. Every machine you build must begin with one of these components.</p>

            <p class="para_item">With the right mouse button, click on the name of the new machine in the navigator tree. </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">Machine Base Component</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Create K-Component</b> dialog opens.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Accept the default MACHINE_BASE as the name for the machine base.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Add</b>. You can now graphically pick the component to use as the machine base component.
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Click on the machine base component in the graphics window. In our example, it is the component shown in red below.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Accept the selection by clicking <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. The new machine base component is created and automatically classified as _MACHINE_BASE.

            </table><br><p class="para_item">You are now ready to insert the machine zero. Every machine needs to have a machine zero junction defined somewhere on or near the model. The location of this junction is not important; however, the orientation of the junction is. The machine zero junction is used to define all the linear axes in which the machine can move. The orientation of the machine zero junction should be parallel to that of the machine tool. The positive Z leg of the machine zero junction should point in the same direction as the Z direction of the machine. The same rule applies to X and Y.</p>
            <p class="para_item">For this example, we put the machine zero on the base of the machine tool where it would contact the floor or the earth. </p>

            <p class="para_item">With the right mouse button, click on the MACHINE_BASE and choose <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> dialog opens.

            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Add</b> in the <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> dialog. The <b class="uiTerm">Create Junctions</b> dialog opens.&nbsp;

            <p class="para_item">Enter a junction name. We recommend that you use the name MACHINE_ZERO since this junction is a special, uniquely-classified junction within the machine tool. </p>

            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Define Coordinate System</b> from the dialog. The familiar <b class="uiTerm">CSYS Constructor</b> dialog opens. Use any of the methods provided to define the junction as appears below.

            </table><br><p class="para_item">You now have to classify this junction. The machine zero junction is the only junction that needs to be classified in the machine tool model.</p>

            <p class="para_item">With the right mouse button, click on the line in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> that contains the MACHINE_ZERO junction.
            </p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> dialog opens with the MACHINE_ZERO junction listed.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Classify</b>. The <b class="uiTerm">Junction Classification</b> dialog opens.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Machine Zero</b>. This classifies the junction as the machine zero. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Confirm your selection by selecting <b class="uiTerm">OK</b>. An asterisk appears in the upper right hand corner of the junction name in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> to show that the junction is now classified. You are now ready to begin creating all the other kinematics components in your model. Begin with the spindle. This is a child of the MACHINE_BASE component.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">With the right mouse button, click on the MACHINE_BASE component and select <b class="uiTerm">Insert</b> &rarr; <b class="uiTerm">K-Component</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the name that the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Driver</b> uses to reference the spindle. In this case, enter <b class="literalText">SPINDLE</b> as the name for your spindle.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Add</b>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the spindle on the machine as shown in red below. The spindle is a complicated component, but was only modeled as one part, therefore we can select it with one click.</p>

As you can see from the machine model, all the other components are built on a base which we call the Z_BASE. After you create the Z_BASE, each of the subsequent K-components is a child of the previous one. </p>

            <p class="para_item">Follow steps 19-22 for each of the K-components that you create. When you are finished, the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> tree appears as follows. The K-components are color-coded to show their position in the model below.
