      <p class="para_topic">Vector Method provides two ways to define a vector along which to move the tool.</p>
      <div class="title_division">dx, dy, dz</div>
      <p class="para_division">dx, dy, dz allows you to specify coordinate increments in x, y, and z that will be added to the coordinates of the current tool position to get to the coordinates of the destination point.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Unit, Vector, Distance</div>
      <p class="para_division">Unit, Vector, Distance displays the vector sub-function dialog so you can specify a unit vector. You must then key in a distance value to define the length of the vector.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Example of Creating a Tool Path</div>
      <p class="para_division">This section gives a step-by-step example of how to create the Sequential Mill tool path illustrated below.</p>

      <p class="para_division">This example requires 3 and 5-axis cutter movements. The bulk of the material has already been roughed out using Cavity Mill. Sequential Mill will be used to remove the remaining material from the vertical and canted faces to create a finished surface.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Initial Setup</div>
      <p class="para_division">The steps described in the initial setup define the type of operation, the tool, avoidance geometry, and machine parameters.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Begin the Operation</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Create Operation Dialog box, select Sequential Mill.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Create to begin a new operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the desired tool from the Tool Selection list. Select OK to accept it, and OK to return to the Sequential Mill dialog box.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Define Start Point</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Sequential Mill dialog box, select Avoidance Geometry.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Start Point from the dialog box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Specify from the dialog box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Existing Point icon (+) from the dialog box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select an existing point on the part (point A illustrated below) as the Start Point.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Display the Tool</div>

            <p class="para_item">Select the Display Options button.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Toggle the Tool Display option to 3D.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select OK to display the Sequential Mill Dialog.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select OK to display the Engage Motion Dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Display Tool button.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Create Sub-Operations</div>
      <p class="para_division">The following steps describe the process of creating sub-operations used to engage the tool, move the tool from one drive surface to the next, and retract the tool.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Define the Reference Point</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Engage Motion Dialog, toggle the Reference Point Position button from Start Point to Point.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Existing Point icon (+).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select an existing point on the part (Point B illustrated below) as the Reference Point.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>

      <div class="title_division">Define the Engage Motion &amp; Geometry</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Engage Motion dialog, select the 5axis button.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Five Axis Options dialog, toggle the Method to Tangent to Ds and select OK to accept it.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Engage Motion dialog, select the Geometry button. In the Engage Geometry Dialog, the Surface defaults to Drive, the Type defaults to Face, and the Stopping Position defaults to Near Side.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a face on the part (Face C illustrated below) to define the Drive Surface and OK to accept it. The Part button is now selected.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a face on the part (Face D illustrated below) to define the Part Surface and OK to accept. The Check button is now selected.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Toggle the Stopping Position button to On Surface. This causes the tool to engage on the edge of the check surface.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the edge of the part (Face E illustrated below) to define the Check Surface and OK to accept.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Engage Geometry dialog, select OK to accept the selected faces.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Engage Motion dialog, select OK to create the Engage motion. The tool engages to the near side (Reference Point side) of the Drive surface, the near side of the Part surface, and on the edge of the Check surface as illustrated below.</p>

      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Define the Continuous Path Motions</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The Sub-Operation Type button has automatically toggled from Engage to Cont. Path. In the Continuous Path Motion dialog, select Reverse to change the tool path vector direction. An additional vector displays showing the new tool path direction as illustrated below.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Check Surfaces button to define the next check surface.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Check Surface No. 1 dialog, the Stopping Position button defaults to On Surface. In this example, the stopping position of the next tool path is defined by the tangency of two surfaces as illustrated below. Toggle the Stopping Position button to Ds-Cs Tangency.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the check surface (Face F illustrated below) and then OK to accept it. The drive surface and part surface do not need to be selected for the remaining Continuous Path sub-operations. The part surface remains constant, and the current check surface automatically becomes the next drive surface.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Check Surface No. 2 dialog, select OK. This specifies that you do not wish to define a second check surface for this sub-operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Continuous Path Motion dialog, select the 5-axis button. This will display the Five Axis Options dialog.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Five Axis Options dialog, toggle the Method from Tangent to Ds to Fan and select OK to accept it. A Fan method is necessary because the drive surface (Face C illustrated below) is not planar.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Continuous Path Motion dialog, select OK to complete the sub-operation and generate the continuous path motion as illustrated below. The Sequential Mill function will remain in the Continuous Path Motion dialog for all subsequent sub-operations unless you specify otherwise.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the Check Surfaces button to define the check surface for the next tool movement.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Verify that the Stopping Position button is still set to Ds-Cs Tangency. Select the next check surface</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">In the Check Surface No. 2 dialog, select OK. This specifies that you do not wish to define a second check surface for this sub-operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Continuous Path Motion dialog, select OK to complete the sub-operation and generate the next tool motion as illustrated below.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Define Retract Motion</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">

            <p class="para_item">In the Continuous Path Motion dialog, toggle the Sub-Operation Type button to Retract.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Retract Motion Dialog, toggle the Method button from None to Tool Axis and key in a value for the retract distance.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select OK to accept the retract method.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select OK in the Retract Motion Dialog to create the Retract sub-operation.</p>

      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">End The Operation</div>
