<h1>Machine Tool Coordinate Axis Validity</h1>

<p CLASS=Paragraph><span style="font-weight: bold;">Coordinate Axes Validity</span>
 allows you to define validity and Word Address formats for the coordinate
 output. You can specify Machine Tool Coordinate Axis Validity for Lathe
 or Mill.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>For <span style="font-weight: bold;">Lathe</span>, the
 default axes are:</p>

<ul>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>Z Coordinate (Center
 Line)</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>X Coordinate (Diameter/Radius)</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>K Circle Center Definition
 (Center Line)</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>I Circle Center Definition
 (Diameter/Radius)</p></li>
</ul>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>For <span style="font-weight: bold;">Mill</span>,<span
 style="font-weight: bold;"> </span>the default axes are:</p>

<ul>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>X Coordinate</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>Y Coordinate</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>Z Coordinate</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>I Coordinate</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>J Coordinate</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>K Coordinate</p></li>
</ul>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>and there are two other parallel spindle axes:</p>

<ul>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>V Coordinate</p></li>

	<li class=kadov-P-CListBullet><p CLASS=ListBullet>W Coordinate</p></li>
</ul>

<h5>Considerations</h5>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>When you set the format definition options for the (mill)
 X coordinate or (lathe) Z coordinate, the values are also assigned for
 all other coordinates. Since setting the X coordinate will reset all other
 coordinates, set X first.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>If your controller uses decimal points, you should suppress
 both leading and trailing zeros in the coordinates. If your controller
 does not use decimal points, you should not use leading and trailing zero
 suppression.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The<span style="font-weight: bold;"> I Coordinate</span>
 option allows you to define the status of the I value. The I value represents
 a component of a vector. The I component (in conjunction with the J and
 K components) define a vector perpendicular to the plane containing a
 circular interpolation arc. The I value is measured parallel to the X
 axis.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The<span style="font-weight: bold;"> J Coordinate</span>
 option allows you to define the status of the J value. The J value represents
 a component of a vector. The J component (in conjunction with the I and
 K components) define a vector perpendicular to the plane containing a
 circular interpolation arc. The J value is measured parallel to the Y
 axis.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The <span style="font-weight: bold;">K Coordinate</span>
 option allows you to define the status of the K value. The K value represents
 a component of a vector. The K component (in conjunction with the I and
 J components) defines a vector perpendicular to the plane containing a
 circular interpolation arc. The K value is measured parallel to the Z
 axis.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The <span style="font-weight: bold;">V Parallel Spindle
 Axis</span> option allows you to define the status of the V value. The
 V value movement in an axis parallel to the machine tool spindle.</p>

<p CLASS=Paragraph>The <span style="font-weight: bold;">W Parallel Spindle
 Axis</span> option allows you to define the status of the W value. The
 W value represents movement in an axis parallel to the machine tool spindle.</p>
