      <p class="para_topic">Relative to Drive allows you to define a Variable Tool Axis leaning forward or backward, or tilting to the right or left of an otherwise Normal Tool Axis relative to the Drive Surface. Interactively, this option works in much the same way as Relative to Part. Because this option requires a Drive Surface, it is only available if the Surface Area Drive Method is used.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Lead Angle defines the angle of the tool forward or backward along the Tool Path. A positive Lead Angle value leans the tool forward based on the direction of the Tool Path. A negative Lead Angle value leans the tool backwards based on the direction of the Tool Path.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Tilt Angle defines the angle of the tool side to side. A positive value tilts the tool to the right as you look in the direction of cut. A negative value tilts the tool to the left.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Relative to Drive can be used to control Tool Axis movement over very complex Part Surfaces as illustrated below.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">The drive surface above was constructed specifically to control the Tool Axis as it machines the Part Surface. It has no Lead and no Tilt, and is therefore normal to the Drive Surface. Because the Tool Axis follows the contour of the Drive Surface rather than the Part Surface, it has a much smoother Zig-Zag movement.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Applying Smoothing</div>
      <p class="para_division">In a Variable Axis Surface Contouring operation: Tool Axis &rarr; Relative to Drive &rarr; turn on Apply Smoothing. </p>
      <p class="para_division">This smoothing function eliminates or reduces the spikes and slips in the tool path that often result from geometry problems, such as gaps and overlaps between faces, while holding a finish tolerance.</p>
