      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Plunge Milling has similar roughing options to Cavity Mill.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Geometry</div>
      <p class="para_division">Plunge Milling geometry for roughing is very similar to Cavity Mill. It:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Supports <b class="uiTerm">Part</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Blank</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Check</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Cut Area</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Trim</b> geometry.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Uses the specified cut area, the blank volume above the cut area and the cut area extension to determine the volume to cut.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Uses the <b class="uiTerm">Plunge Levels</b> dialog, which is similar to <b class="uiTerm">Cut Levels</b> (single range), to identify plunge levels.
            </p>
         </li>

                  <p class="para_note_body">A blank is not required for roughing operations. If the cavity is closed and there isn't a blank, the plunge starts from the top of the assumed blank. However, defining the <b class="uiTerm">Blank</b> geometry is recommended because the assumed blank may not reflect your intent.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_note_body">The defined blank is ignored for finishing operations (<b class="uiTerm">Profile</b> cut method), and the option is unavailable.

      <div class="title_division">Cut Method</div>
      <p class="para_division">Plunge Milling has the same cut patterns for roughing (except <b class="uiTerm">Trochoidal</b>) as Cavity Mill. In addition, the following rules are applied for the <b class="uiTerm">Follow Part</b> pattern to optimize Plunge Milling tool paths for roughing:
      </p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A bottom-up cut region identification ensures that the bottom most region of the cavity is cut first.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Within each identified region, a generic follow-part order starts away from the part walls then moves towards them. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">For non center-cutting tools, the plunge points are limited to the current cut level. This ensures that the tool never plunges deeper than the previous plunge. </p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">In-process Workpiece</div>
      <p class="para_division">Plunge Milling uses the <b class="uiTerm">Use 3D</b> <b class="uiTerm">In-process Workpiece</b> option for roughing.
