      <p class="para_topic">Graphical Data Selection gives you options to help you to select only the segments of the tool path you wish to edit. As you select single segments, multiple segments by drawing a rectangle, or multiple segments by defining a range, only the specified type of tool path segment is highlighted.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The list of GOTO's in the Tool Path Editor dialog box is also highlighted to correspond to your selections. Each of the available Types and Select By options are described below.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Type</div>
      <p class="para_division">Type allows you to select similar tool path segments. All segments that are not within the specified type become non-selectable. If there are no occurrences of a Type in the tool path, then the option is grayed out and is not available. You may choose from the following Types:</p>
      <p class="para_division">All will allow you to select all tool path segments either individually, within a defined range, or within a drawn rectangle.</p>
      <p class="para_division">First Cut/Last Cut will allow you to select only the tool path segments that can be used for Extend functionality.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Edited will allow you to select only the tool path segments that have been edited since last entering the Tool Path Editor.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Spikes/Plunge Motions will allow you to select only tool path segments that form spikes or plunges. This option is only available if the original tool path or an edited tool path contains at least one valid spike or plunge.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Tool path segments must meet the following criteria in order to qualify as spikes or plunges.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The following conditions must be met before the filter will recognize the motion as a spike:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The angle (Alpha) defined by the two consecutive cut motions should be less than 40 degrees.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The shorter of the two minimum distance measurements (a and b) between the non-common endpoint and the opposite motion segment must be less than 50 X (intol+outtol).</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

      <p class="para_division">A plunge is defined by a pair of steep motions and any cut motions in between that meet the following criteria.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Motions m2 and m5 are steep motions. The following conditions must be met in order for a motion to qualify as a valid steep motion:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Angle between the motion segment and the tool axis (a, b) is less than 2.5 degrees.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Total drop or rise distance (d1, d2 ) is greater than</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">(INTOL +OUTTOL) / 2.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Motions m2, m3, m4, and m5 define the plunge. The following conditions must be met in order for a motion to qualify as a valid plunge:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Motions m2 and m5 must be valid steep motions.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The straight line distance (x) between the lowest points in the steep motions must be less than the maximum radius of the tool.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The length of motions m2 and m5 must be greater than the part tolerance.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

      <div class="title_division">Select By</div>
      <p class="para_division">Select By allows you to choose the method that you will use to graphically select the areas of the tool path that you want to edit.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Single/Rectangle allows you to either select the nearest GOTO point from the cursor location or select an area of GOTO points by dragging a rectangular box around them.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Range allows you to pick a series of GOTO points. When you choose Range the cue line prompts you to select the start and end points of the range. </p>
