Adding fillets to all corners is particularly useful when machining hard material or when machining at high speeds. Corners cause a sudden change in the direction of the tool movement which can result in excessive stress on the machine tool and cutter. Adding fillets to all corners also aids the tool path generation when Nurbs has been specified because smooth transitions are easier to blend into Nurbs than sharp corners.
