      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The machine tool driver calls S&amp;V commands in order to communicate the simulation instructions to the simulation engine. There are two kinds of S&amp;V commands:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">basic S&amp;V commands - commands implemented in C.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">high level S&amp;V commands - these commands, implemented in TCL, use the basic S&amp;V commands to create new commands that are often used by the MTD writer. These commands are responsible for such things as linear approximation, interpolation, mapping of machine axis and devices. High level S&amp;V commands are intended to simplify the task of writing a new driver.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">S&amp;V commands pertaining to Advanced Programming.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">S&amp;V commands are mapped to fundamental actions that update the machine tool model and generate graphical, audio and any other feedback. There are six categories of basic commands.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_setup_basic_coms_desc.html#motion');return(false);">Motion commands</a> move slides or machine devices to specified locations.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_setup_basic_coms_desc.html#mounting');return(false);">Mounting commands</a> mount or un-mount changeable devices and cutting tools.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_setup_basic_coms_desc.html#feedback');return(false);">Feedback commands</a> issue graphical, messages, audio or any other feedback passed to the user or to the CAM processor.
            </p>

            </p>

            <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_setup_basic_coms_desc.html');return(false);">Query commands</a> allow the MTD writer to get information from the machine tool model.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"> <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_setup_basic_coms_desc.html#miscellaneous');return(false);">Miscellaneous commands</a> perform anything else that doesn't fall into the above categories.
