      <p class="para_topic">A junction is a classified and named coordinate system. The coordinate system is defined with respect to the absolute coordinate system of the model part. A junction is a persistent object and is associated with a K-component. The CAM system uses it for automatic tool or device mounting. The machine tool driver can reference it for (re)mounting K-components or transforming coordinates. Junctions are also used for NC-axis definitions. </p>
      <p class="para_topic">When working with junctions, you can:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Add a junction</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Edit an existing junction</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Classify an existing junction</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Delete an existing junction</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Adding a Junction</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">MB3 on the K-component in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> for which you want to define a junction.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> dialog. This dialog box shows a list of any junction currently defined in that component.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Add</b>. This opens the <b class="uiTerm">Create Junction</b> dialog.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter a new name for your junction or accept the default.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Define Coordinate System</b>, which opens the <b class="uiTerm">CSYS Constructor</b> dialog. Here you can define the junction coordinate system in the graphics window. The new junction is drawn in orange. 
            </p>

      <div class="title_division">Editing an Existing Junction</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">MB3 on the K-component in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigato</b>r whose junction you want to edit.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> dialog. This dialog box shows a list of any junction currently defined.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the junction you want to edit from the list box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b>. This opens the <b class="uiTerm">Edit Junction</b> dialog.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If necessary, edit the name of your junction.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If necessary, select <b class="uiTerm">Define Coordinate System</b> and define a new coordinate system for your junction using the <b class="uiTerm">CSYS Constructor Dialog</b>. The new junction is drawn in orange. 
            </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Classifying an Existing Junction</div>
      <p class="para_division">Other components in ISV perform specific actions depending on the class assigned to a junction.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b>, right-click on the K-component whose junction you want to classify.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Junctions</b> dialog, choose the junction you want to classify from the list of all currently defined junctions.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Classify</b>. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Junction Classification</b> dialog, classify a junction as one of the following: 
            </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">None</b></p>
               </li>
               <li><a name="mfgisv_machine_zero_nx5"></a><p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Machine Zero</b> - This is a part-independent coordinate system on the machine that defines the machine tool coordinate system (MTCS). The axis of the MTCS should be parallel to the main linear axis of the machine.
                  </p>
                  <ul>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">For <b class="uiTerm">MTD</b> this junction is required by some high level S&amp;V commands, such as <b class="literalText">SIM_move_linear_mtcs</b> and <b class="literalText">SIM_move_circular_mtcs</b>, in the <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgisv/mfgisv_setup_mtd.html');return(false);">machine tool driver</a>. 
                        </p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">For <b class="uiTerm">CSE</b>, the junction location should be coincident with the tool mount junction (gauge point) when all the axes are set to their zero value positions. 
                        </p>
                     </li>
                  </ul>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Tool Mount</b> - This identifies either the mounting junction in a tool or device or the mounting junction on the machine side where tool or device is to be mounted. When mounting, the software matches the mounting junction on the tool or device side to the mounting junction on the machine side.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_item">If you name the Tool Mount Junction &ldquo;S&rdquo; on the machine then it will work with the example CSE tool change subprograms.</p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Tool Tip</b> - The origin of this junction identifies the point of the tool that is generally used by the NC program to position the tool. The X-axis of the junction identifies the rotational axis for milling and drilling tools.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Lathe Work Plane Z/X</b>, <b class="uiTerm">Lathe Work Plane X/Y</b> - The ZX or XY axis of this junction identifies the lathe work plane. You can assign a lathe work plane in the lathe spindle or the tool carrier (device) kinematics component. 
                  </p>
                  <ul>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">If you have a machine with more than one tool carrier working simultaneously and these carriers are moving the tool in the same plane, you should specify this plane in the lathe spindle component. </p>
                     </li>
                     <li>
                        <p class="para_item">If one carrier is working at a different plane than that specified in the lathe spindle, then define the lathe work plane junction in the carrier component.</p>
                     </li>
                  </ul>
               </li>
            </ul>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">Deleting an Existing Junction</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">MB3 on the K-component in the <b class="uiTerm">Machine Tool Navigator</b> whose junction you would like to delete.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select <b class="uiTerm">Delete</b>.
            </p>
