      <p class="para_topic">When specifying a tool for an operation, you can create a tool group by retrieving a tool from the Cutting Tool Library (defined by the configuration file).</p>
      <ul>

            <p class="para_item">In the Create Tool or Generic Machine dialog, select  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/setup_retoolicon.gif" border="0"> Retrieve Tools. 
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The system displays the Library Class Selection dialog. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From here select a type of tool. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The system displays the Search Criteria dialog. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Once you have specified the search criteria, the system lists the available tools matching the criteria. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the desired tool from the list.</p>
         </li>

      <p class="para_topic">The system adds the selected tool to the Machine Tool View of the Operation Navigator. The system can now use this tool as a parent when defining operations.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The tool library contains much more information about tools than the system requires to generate tool paths. For example, in the tool library the tools are classified by class and subclass, they have holder types and additional dimensions, and are identified as inserted or not. When these tools are retrieved into the system, they are mapped to the closest matching definition, such as a five parameter mill, and only the required information is retrieved from the library. The description from the library is mapped to the template subtype, and can be displayed in the Operation Navigator. If the other library information is required for shop documentation or postprocessing, you can retrieve it directly from the library at that time.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Additional Search Criteria</div>
      <p class="para_division">When specifying search criteria, you may key in exact values or a range of values using &lt;, &gt;, &lt;=, or &gt;=. Keying in &gt;=.6 in the cut edge length field for a turning tool narrows the search to only those tools with a cut edge length of greater than or equal to .6.</p>
