      </table><br><p class="para_topic">You can list, add, delete, move, and copy CLSF statements. Lines may be replaced or resequenced, or the text of a particular line may be changed.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The system editor maintains a pointer to the current line number. Initially, this is the first line in the file. As you edit the file, the current line pointer changes, always indicating which line you are modifying.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">In several Edit options (List, Find Text, Delete, Replace Lines, Replace Text, Move, Copy, Read Text, Write Text, and Resequence), you must enter a range of lines to indicate which lines you want to edit.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The filename that the system displays on the Cue line is the name of the CLSF being edited. The system returns to this menu display after the completion of any of the editing options above.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You have the following options:</p>
      <div class="title_division">List All</div>
      <p class="para_division">Use List All to list the entire edit file in a Information Window. The first line of the first page is called the &quot;Header Line.&quot; This header indicates the type of file, the filename, and the date of creation. It appears like this:</p>
      <p class="para_division">UNIGRAPHICS CL-SOURCE FILE filename mm-dd-yy</p>
      <p class="para_division">Use Resize in the pop-up menu to change the number of lines displayed in the Information Window. Use the vertical scroll bar to move through the displayed file. Use Close, in the Information Window, to close the window and return to the Edit main menu. Refer to the NX Gateway Help for a more detailed description of the use of Information Windows.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If the current CLSF is empty or damaged, the system displays this message:</p>
      <p class="para_division">Null File</p>
      <p class="para_division">at which point you must press OK. The system redisplays the Edit menu.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> If you need to create or retrieve a different CLSF, choose File&gt; Save&gt;CLSF if you want to save the current CLSF and then choose File&gt;Close&gt;CLSF to close it. You may then restart the Manufacturing application and choose a new CLSF.</p>
               </div>
            </td>
         </tr>
      </table>
      <div class="title_division">List</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can list the text in the CLSF by line number or by page number. A page is one full screen of lines on the screen.</p>
      <p class="para_division">A menu allows you to specify the starting and ending line numbers for the listing operation. The default for Start is the number of the line five lines before the current line; the default for End is the number of the line five lines after the current line. Thus, the default range of lines is 10. If the current line is within five lines of the beginning or end of the CLSF, the Start or End values are set to the starting or ending line numbers respectively.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If you enter a value other than 0 for PAGE, the system ignores the Start and End parameters and lists a full screen page.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Insert</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can insert additional lines into the CLSF by using the Insert option. You may insert one or more lines, or you can create and insert an entire tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Typically, this might be used to add lines of text of similar construction, such as a series of GOTO/ statements, or perhaps a tool path of a different type than that used to create the CLSF you are editing.</p>
      <p class="para_division">First, the system prompts you to indicate the number of the line that the inserted text will follow.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Next, choose the option you want to use.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The Enter Command allows you to enter one or more commands in text form.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Goto allows you to specify tool movements graphically on the screen or by typing in coordinates.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Godlta allows you to specify incremental tool movements.</p>
      <p class="para_division">These three (3) data generation methods are described in detail in Append Commands.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Find Text</div>
      <p class="para_division">Find Text allows you to find a particular text string in your CLSF file. When you select this option, the system prompts you to specify the text you want to find.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The system finds the first occurrence of the text after the current line and displays it along with the line number. To find the next instance, choose OK.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> The system always searches from your current line number toward the end of the CLSF, rather than from the top of the CLSF. If you want to move back to some earlier line, choose Alternate Action.</p>

         </tr>
      </table>
      <p class="para_division">The system displays the current line number as the Start number and the last line number of the file as the End line number. Enter the Start and End line numbers for the text you want to locate.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If there are no instances of the text you are looking for in the range of lines you specify, you get the message Text Not Found.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The message No Line Selected indicates that the system cannot locate the range of line numbers you have specified.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Delete</div>
      <p class="para_division">This option deletes one or more lines of text from the CLSF. Enter the range of lines to be deleted in response to the menu prompt below.</p>
      <p class="para_division">&quot;nnnn&quot; is the current line number. You may enter a new value or accept the default. If you do not enter a value for End, only one line is deleted. If you enter a value for End, the system deletes the range of lines, including the Start and End lines. The line preceding Start becomes the current line after the deletion. Press OK to execute the Delete operation for the range of lines you have specified.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Replace Lines</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Replace Lines option of Edit works the same way as a Delete followed by an Insert. The system deletes lines which you select and adds new text which you specify.</p>
      <p class="para_division">You may Replace one or more lines, or you can Replace an entire tool path with a new one you create while in this mode.</p>
      <p class="para_division">First the system prompts you for the range of lines you want to replace:</p>

      <p class="para_division">Select the Start and End lines. See CAUTION above. That range of lines is deleted and the system prompts you to choose the method you want to use:</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter Command allows you to enter one or more commands in text form.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Goto allows you to specify tool movements graphically on the screen or by typing in coordinates.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Godlta allows you to specify incremental tool movements.</p>
      <p class="para_division">These three (3) data generation methods are described in detail in Append Commands.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Replace Text</div>
      <p class="para_division">Replace Text allows you to replace a particular text string over a range of CLSF lines.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter the range of lines in response to the menu and message above.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter the &quot;old text&quot; to be replaced (up to 40 characters).</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter the &quot;new text&quot; replacement characters (up to 40 characters).</p>
      <p class="para_division">After you enter the replacement text, the system replaces each occurrence of &quot;old text&quot; with &quot;new text&quot; in the range of specified lines. The last line to receive the replacement text becomes the current line.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If the &quot;old text&quot; is not found, the system displays the message, Text Not Found. If the text replacement causes the line length to exceed 132 characters, the system truncates the line at 132.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Edit Text Line</div>
      <p class="para_division">You may edit an individual line of text with the Edit Text Line option. Enter the line number of the text line you want to edit.</p>
      <p class="para_division">After you enter the line number, the system displays the line of text in the text field.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If the line to be edited has more than 22 characters, use the horizontal scroll bar to display the additional characters.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Single-click Mouse Button 1 (MB1) on the text field to get inside the text entry area. An insert or bar cursor ( | ) displays. Information is entered in insert mode; whatever you type is inserted at the cursor location. The cursor is controlled by the following keys on the alphanumeric keyboard:</p>
      <p class="para_division">Text Arrow Key (right arrow) moves the cursor one character to the right.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Text Arrow Key (left arrow) umoves the cursor one character to the left.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Tab moves the cursor to the beginning of the line of text.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Text Arrow Key (up) moves the cursor to the end of the line of text.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Backspace or Delete deletes the character to the left of the cursor and shifts all the following characters to the left.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Click MB1 on the desired location within the text field to move the cursor to that position.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If you press any other character key on the keyboard, that character is inserted before the cursor and all the following characters are shifted to the right. The editor does not allow the line being edited to exceed 132 characters.</p>
      <p class="para_division">You can select the contents of a particular text field by double-clicking MB1 inside the text entry area. Information is then entered in type-over mode; whatever you type will replace what was previously displayed.</p>

      <p class="para_division">If you press Back after editing the text line, the system restores the original unedited line to the message monitor with the cursor at the start.</p>
      <p class="para_division">To accept the edited version of the line, press OK. The system replaces the original line with the edited line in the CLSF and redisplays the Line Text Edit menu.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Move</div>
      <p class="para_division">This option moves one or more lines of text to another place in the CLSF. Enter the range of lines you want to move and the destination line number.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The system moves the lines to a point immediately following the TO line number and renumbers them in increments of one. The last line in the range of lines moved becomes the current line. The system automatically resequences the CLSF as needed.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If you enter the same number for Start, End and To, or if you accept the default with all three numbers the same, that line number is incremented by one.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Copy</div>
      <p class="para_division">This option copies one or more lines of text to another place in the CLSF. The text to be copied is not moved or changed.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Enter the range of lines to be copied and the destination line number as indicated.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The system copies the lines you specify to a point immediately following the To line and renumbers them in increments of one. The last line in the range of lines copied becomes the current line. The system automatically resequences the CLSF as needed.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Read Text</div>
      <p class="para_division">Use Read Text to read text from another source into the CLSF. You can either Append the new text to the end of the work file or Insert it after a specified line number. New text can be read in from an NX text file.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Choose Append if you want to add the text to the end of the file.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Choose Insert if you want to add the text after the line number you specify. When you choose Insert, the system prompts you to enter a line number. The new text is inserted in the file after the line number you specify.</p>
      <p class="para_division">In either case, the text can be read in from a text file.</p>
      <p class="para_division">When writing to a text file, the system displays a File Selection dialog box allowing you to specify the name of the text file to be input by either choosing the name from the list or entering the name of the file in the Selection text field.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The entire file is read into the CLSF. The system resequences line numbers automatically.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Write Text</div>
      <p class="para_division">Use this option to write text from the current work file to another NX file.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The system displays the current line number as the Start number and the last line number of the file as the End line number. Enter the Start and End line numbers for the text you want to Write.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If you specify the Start line number as 1 and the End line number as 10, then the system writes only the first 10 lines.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Append Commands</div>
      <p class="para_division">Append Commands provides you with write text from the current work file to another NX file into the current Cutter Location Source File (CLSF) by adding text commands, GOTO points, and incremental tool movements to the END of the current CLSF. A common use of Append Commands is to insert a setup command or macro call at the beginning of an empty CLSF.</p>

      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Enter Command</div>
      <p class="para_division">You can use the Enter Command option to edit the current CLSF by appending any command, including macro CALL statements, PAINT commands, postprocessor commands, and comments to the current CLSF.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Any text you enter using this option is placed at the end of the current CLSF. If the CLSF is empty, you can start the file with postprocessor commands or macro call(s) that you enter.</p>
      <p class="para_division">You can enter one or more commands (but only one per line.) If a single command is longer than 132 characters, use the continuation character, $. After entering a command, press Return or OK and the next available line number displays, allowing you to continue entering commands, if desired.</p>
      <p class="para_division">After you enter all desired commands, choose Return or OK again to append the command(s) to the current CLSF.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The system does not check the validity of statements entered using the Enter Command option until you try to replay the CLSF or generate a CL-file. If errors exist, use Edit to edit the CLSF and to correct the errors.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Interactive Sequence</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Edit.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Choose Append Commands.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Enter Command.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter all desired command (one per line.)</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose OK.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <div class="title_division">GOTO</div>
      <p class="para_division">Goto is a direct method of moving a tool to a point. You specify the GOTO locations graphically or with numerical coordinates. You can add a GOTO point with or without an associated tool axis, specify feed rates to be associated with the GOTO point, and delete the last GOTO specified. Goto does not generate a Tool Path Header or an End-of-Path statement.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The GOTO point is output to the CLSF in the coordinate system defined by the most recent MSYS/ statement which appears before the GOTO point. If no MSYS/ is found, the system will output an MSYS/ statement which represents the current Machine Coordinate System.</p>
      <p class="para_division">After you choose GOTO from the Append Commands menu, the Tool Axis menu displays. If you choose YES, you must specify the desired tool axis after the definition of each GOTO point by describing a vector defining the orientation of the cutting tool. If you choose NO, the system uses the tool axis of the previous point. If the specified point is the first point to be machined, the default tool axis is used (typically I=0, J=0, K=1.)</p>
      <p class="para_division">As you define each point, the system displays the new portion of the tool path. You may then define another point using the same GOTO generation method, press Back to choose a different GOTO generation method or to delete the just-defined GOTO point, or press Cancel to exit Append Commands.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> If you need to use a specific tool axis for several points, you can define the tool axis once and then Back back to the Tool Axis menu. Choose NO. All subsequently defined points then automatically use the previously defined tool axis.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Whether you choose YES or NO, you must choose the desired Goto Generation Method next. Use part geometry to determine the GOTO point and Feed Rates to associate feed rate units and values with the GOTO point. Delete Last Goto allows you to delete the previously defined GOTO point.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The following are the options under Goto Generation Method:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose Generic Point</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Closest Tangent To Curve</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Tangent To Curve End Point</p>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Delete Last Goto</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">GOTO Method . . .</div>
      <p class="para_division">Choose Generic Point - Choose a method to define the point of tool movement.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Tool Axis - YES - If you choose YES on the tool axis menu, you are prompted to define the tool axis for the previously defined point. Choose a method of specifying the tool axis vector which defines the orientation of the tool when it moves to the previously defined point.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">After you define the tool axis vector, the system 1) displays the vector on the graphics screen, 2) writes a 5-Axis GOTO statement containing point coordinate and vector information to the end of the CLSF, and 3) displays the new portion of the tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_division">This is an example of a 5-Axis GOTO statement:</p>
      <p class="para_division">GOTO/2.0000,3.0000,4.0000,0.5774000,0.5774000,0.5774000</p>
      <p class="para_division">XC , YC , ZC , I , J , K POINT , TOOL AXIS VECTOR</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Tool Axis - NO - If you choose NO on the tool axis menu, the system writes a 3-Axis GOTO statement containing the point coordinates to the CLSF and displays the new portion of the tool path. (The tool axis associated with the previous point is used.)</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">This is an example of a 3-Axis GOTO statement:</p>
      <p class="para_division">GOTO/2.0000,3.0000,4.0000</p>
      <p class="para_division">XC , YC , ZC POINT</p>
      <p class="para_division">After the GOTO statement is output to the CLSF (whether or not you define a tool axis), the GOTO menu redisplays. You may:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Define another point using the same GOTO generation method,</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Press Back to choose a different GOTO generation method or to delete the just-defined GOTO point, or</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Press Cancel to exit Append Commands.GOTO Method . . .</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">GOTO Method . . .</div>
      <p class="para_division">Closest Tangent To Curve method of defining a GOTO point allows you to specify a tool position by defining a reference point and selecting a curve. The position on the curve closest to the reference point determines the tool contact point. The tool is offset by the tool radius in the plane of the Work Coordinate System (WCS) for the current tool path. You can continue the define reference point, select curve sequence until you have defined all desired GOTO points.</p>
      <p class="para_division">You must first choose a method to define the reference point using the Point Subfunction. The reference point is used to determine the closest position to the curve and is not written to the CLSF. After defining the reference point, you must select the curve and tool diameter to be used in determining the tool position.</p>

      <p class="para_division">You can select the curve using one of two methods, by screen cursor or by name. You must have previously named the curve to select the curve by name.</p>

      <div class="title_division">GOTO Method . . .</div>
      <p class="para_division">Tangent To Curve End Point - allows you to specify a tool position by defining a reference point and selecting a curve. The curve End Point closest to the reference point determines the tool contact point. The reference point determines which side of the curve as well as which end of the curve is used as the tool position. The reference point is not written to the CLSF. The tool is offset by the tool radius in the plane of the Work Coordinate System (WCS) for the current tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The interactive steps to define a GOTO point using the Tangent To Curve End Point method are the same as Closest Tangent To Curve. Refer to the previous discussion.</p>
      <div class="title_division">GOTO Method . . .</div>
      <p class="para_division">Tangent To Two Curves - allows you to specify a tool position that is tangent to two coplanar curves.To select the desired tool position, you must first select a reference point to be used as the approximate tool center position. (This position is not output to the CLSF.)</p>
      <p class="para_division">Choose a method to define the approximate tool center.</p>
      <p class="para_division">After defining the approximate tool center, you must select the first curve and the Tool Diameter to be used in determining the tool position.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Feed Rate - allows you to assign feed rate information (units and a value) to each GOTO point. Enter the feed rate information before defining the GOTO point. The selected units and value remain in effect until you change them or until you log off.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Inches per Minute (IPM) - Inches measured along the linear movement of the tool per minute.</p>
            <p class="para_item">Inches per Revolution (IPR) - Inches measured along the linear movement of the tool per a single revolution. As RPM increase, so does the linear feed.</p>
            <p class="para_item">Millimeters per Minute (MMPM) - Millimeters measured along the linear movement of the tool.</p>
            <p class="para_item">Millimeters per Revolution (MMPR) - Millimeters measured along the linear movement of the tool per a single revolution. As RPM increase, so does the linear feed.</p>
            <p class="para_item">None - If you choose None, no feed rate units are output in the feed rate command.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Feed Rate</p>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the desired feed rate value. The input value remains in effect until you change the feed rate value or you log off. A value of -939 suppresses the output of any feed rate commands. A zero (0) value causes a RAPID command to be written to the CLSF with each subsequently specified GOTO point. For any other feed rate value (except -939), the appropriate feed rate command is written to the CLSF.</p>

      <div class="title_division">GOTO Option . . .</div>
      <p class="para_division">Delete Last Goto appears on the Goto Generation Method menu ONLY if a GOTO point has been written to the CLSF since the GOTO option was entered or since the last GOTO deletion.</p>
      <p class="para_division">When GOTO generation is terminated, no deletions can be made upon reentry until another GOTO is written to the CLSF. When you choose this option, the system deletes the GOTO position, any associated tool axis, and any associated feed rate or RAPID commands. After deletion, the Choose Goto Generation Method menu redisplays. This option is now invalid until another GOTO is written to the CLSF.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Interactive Sequence</div>
      <p class="para_division">Choose Edit.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Choose Append Commands.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Choose Goto.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Specify the tool axis desired: (choose either YES or NO.)</p>
      <p class="para_division">Choose the desired Goto Generation Method.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Godlta</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Godlta command lets you specify an incremental tool move from the current tool position. There must be an existing GOTO statement in the current CLSF file. Otherwise, the system cannot determine the starting point of the incremental move.</p>
