      <p class="para_topic">Across Voids is a cut parameter specific to Face milling. &nbsp;For the system to recognize a void, it must be a fully-enclosed pocket or hole. &nbsp;When cutting across voids, you have three options:</p>

      <ul>
         <li><a name="pcmill_face_cut_x_voids_follow"></a><p class="para_item">Follow will attempt to go around the void at the cut level:</p>

         <li><a name="pcmill_face_cut_x_voids_cut"></a><p class="para_item">Cut will continue cutting along the same direction at the cut feed rate, in effect ignoring the void.</p>

         <li><a name="pcmill_face_cut_x_voids_traverse"></a><p class="para_item">Traverse will continue along the same direction, but change from Cut feed rate to Traverse feed rate while the tool is completely in air, if the distance across the void exceeds the traverse distance. The traverse feed rate is only activated when the tool is completely off the workpiece and not while it is still touching it.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">The Traverse Distance is the longest distance the system allows the tool to go through air at the cut feed rate. &nbsp;When the Traverse Distance is exceeded, the feed rate will change from the cut feed rate to the traverse feed rate.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">In the example below, the Traverse distance is set at 50 mm. &nbsp;Therefore, the tool cuts at the set cut feed rate (as shown by the light blue solid line) unless the length of the void exceeds 50 mm. &nbsp;If the length of the void exceeds 50 mm, then the cutter will change from cut feed rate to Traverse feed rate (as indicated by the dotted blue line).</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">When you select faces as Cut Area, the faces are converted to blank boundaries inside the processor. In doing this, the Ignore Holes option is automatically turned on. In the case of a hollow ring, you only get the outer loop when you pick the face as Cut Area. The hole in the middle is ignored. As a consequence of this, you cannot apply the Across Voids functionality when using Cut Area. </p>
