      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The Linear Roughing Dialog is customizable so the options available vary according to your needs. The following is an overview of the available options.                            <p class="para_warning_body">The operation's level angle (or the level angle +/- 180) cannot equal the tool's orient angle. If these are equal, the system cannot determine which side to move into the material in linear roughing. You can try making your tool orient angle incrementally larger or smaller (eg. 359.9999) or try using a plunge zig cutting strategy with an appropriate step angle and cleanup inactive.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Allows you to invert the (initial) cutting direction for finishing/profiling passes with respect to the direction given by boundary orientation or through profiling-related roughing parameters.</p>

If selected, the additional profiling option performs a cleanup of the part surface after multiple rough cuts have been made. In contrast to the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/turn_r_cleanup.html');return(false);">Cleanup</a> option, profiling is meant to follow either the entire part boundary or certain portions of it which describe individual reversals. This is sequenced in a way that all rough cuts for the entire cut region or for the respective reversal currently machined are carried out first, and only then does the profiling take place.

If you select a linear zig zag cutting strategy, and you are cutting in a groove or valley with material on both sides, the system will produce one uninterrupted cutting move. Therefore, if you set a local return, the tool only moves to the point after the complete cut is finished. If you need to interrupt the zig zag pattern, activate Cleanup and the tool will move to the local return point at each cleanup move.</p>
