      </table><br><p class="para_topic">With <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> you can first select part and cut area geometry, then manually select flow and cross curves to replace or augment the automatic selection. Or, you can begin by manually selecting the flow and cross curves. <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> does not require part geometry or cut area.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">To manually specify the flow and cross curves:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Create Operation</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/manufacturing/manufacturing_create/create_operation.gif" border="0">.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the <b class="uiTerm">Create Operation</b> dialog box, create a fixed or variable axis <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> operation.
            </p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">To create a fixed axis operation select <b class="uiTerm">mill_contour</b> from the <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> list and select <b class="uiTerm">STREAMLINE</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/create_operation/streamline.gif" border="0"> from the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Subtype</b> group.
                  </p>
               </li>

                  <p class="para_item">To create a variable axis operation, select <b class="uiTerm">mill_multi-axis</b> from the <b class="uiTerm">Type</b> list and select <b class="uiTerm">VARIABLE_STREAMLINE</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/create_operation/variable_streamline.gif" border="0"> from the <b class="uiTerm">Operation Subtype</b> group.

            <p class="para_item"> In the <b class="uiTerm">Streamline</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Variable Streamline</b> dialog box, in the <b class="uiTerm">Drive Method</b> group, click <b class="uiTerm">Edit</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/common/edit.gif" border="0">.

            <p class="para_item">If you selected part geometry, review the flow and cross curve selections in the <b class="uiTerm">Streamline Drive Method</b> dialog box.

                  <p class="para_item">Notice the <b class="uiTerm">Selection Method</b> option is <b class="uiTerm">Automatic</b> (default).

                  <p class="para_item">Expand the <b class="uiTerm">Flow Curves</b> and <b class="uiTerm">Cross Curves</b> lists.

            <p class="para_item">Specify the flow curves.</p>

                  <p class="para_item">Repeat the above step for each flow curve set. Insert intermediate flow curve sets into the List for finer control over the cut pattern (optional).</p>

                  <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">Display</b> <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/manufacturing/common/display.gif" border="0"> in the <b class="uiTerm">Preview</b> group to view the cut pattern.
                  </p>
                  <p class="para_item">If the preview is acceptable, you do not need to specify cross curves.</p>

            <p class="para_item">If required, manually specify cross curves (optional).</p>
            <p class="para_item">Generally, you will select the edges at the beginning and end of the cut area to make a 4 sided patch. More complex geometry may require additional cross curves.</p>

                  <p class="para_item">Starting at the beginning of Flow 1, select the first set of cross curves in order.</p>
                  <p class="para_item">The origin of the drive surface is at the intersection of Flow 1 and Cross 1. This can be changed with <b class="uiTerm">Cut Direction</b> vectors.

                  <p class="para_item">Select the remaining sets of cross curves.</p>
               </li>

After obtaining the boundary flow and cross curves with <b class="uiTerm">Automatic</b>, you can further refine the drive surface definition by manually adding intermediate flow and cross curve sets.
