      <p class="para_topic">This example illustrates how to define a Surface Region using Seed, how to Preprocess the associated body, and how to use the Surface Region in a Fixed Axis Surface Contouring operation.</p>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Surface Region.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Seed.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select face a illustrated below as the seed face and Accept.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Select faces b-e illustrated below as the boundary faces and select OK to accept them.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Toggle Traverse Interior Edges OFF so that the hole and the pocket are not included in the Surface Region as illustrated below.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select Preview Region to visually verify the Surface Region.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Finished Preview and OK to accept the Surface Region.</p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Select Preprocess from the Prepare Geometry dialog box.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select Parameters and check the Triangle Tolerance and the Tool Axis. For the preprocessed data to be used, the Triangle tolerance must be less than or equal to the (Intol/Outol)/2 to be specified in the operation. The Tool Axis must be the same as that to be used in the operation.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">Select OK to accept the Triangle Tolerance and the Tool Axis.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select Create.</p>

         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the solid body from which the Surface Region was created and OK to accept it. This is the point at which the preprocessing takes place, so this step may take some time.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select OK to complete the preprocessing.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Now go to the Operation Manager and begin a new Fixed Axis Surface Contouring operation. You will use the Surface Region associated with the preprocessed body as Part Geometry in the operation. When defining Part Geometry, set the Selection Options to Features, Surface Regions:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the Surface Region associated with the preprocessed solid body as the Part Geometry.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Define the remaining operation parameters and Generate the tool path. The tool Path generates quickly because the body has been preprocessed. Notice that the hole and the pocket were ignored because they were not included in the Surface Region (Traverse Interior Edges OFF).</p>
