      <p class="para_topic">Very often, the system detects multiple, independent cut regions for a single operation. The figure shows a typical example. </p>

      <div class="title_figure">Machine All Cut Regions</div>
      <p class="para_topic">The Turning system can machine all cut regions detected by a specific cut strategy in one operation. You can specify the sequence in which these cut regions are machined. In order to machine all cut regions, and designate their cutting sequence, proceed as follows:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If you want to begin cutting at a specific cut region, you must set a cut region selection point (RSP). To do this, see <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/06topic_31.html');return(false);">Manually Select Cut Region</a>.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the operation dialog, select <b class="uiTerm">Cutting</b>. The Cutting dialog opens.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the <b class="uiTerm">Machine all regions</b> option. The <b class="uiTerm">Region sequence</b> option becomes active.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the desired sequence option:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item"><b>Single direction&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>The system machines all isolated cut regions in the order of their occurrence on the part boundary and in respect to the operation's level/step/cut angle direction. This is the default behavior for cut region sequencing control.

                  <p class="para_item"><b>Inverse direction&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>The system machines all individual cut regions in the opposite direction to the Single direction option above. The inverse sequence option maintains the original cut direction as specified in the operation's level/step/cut angle for the individual regions to be machined.

                  <p class="para_item"><b>Bi-directional&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>The system begins at the cut region selection point (<a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgturning/04topic_18.html');return(false);">RSP</a>) and machines that cut region next &ndash; among those not yet machined &ndash; that is closest to the previous one in the direction of the level/step/cut angle. Once the last uncut region in that direction has been machined, the next uncut region in the opposite direction is machined. The system continues to machine in this reversed direction until all cut regions are machined.

                              <p class="para_note_body">If <b class="uiTerm">Omit Reversals</b> is selected, or the <b class="uiTerm">Undercut</b> option is turned off, then the result is the same as using <b class="uiTerm">Single Direction</b> above.

                  <p class="para_item"><b>Alternate&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;</b>The system machines that cut region &ndash; among those not yet machined &ndash; that is closest to the cut region selection point (RSP). This can result in multiple direction changes. A repetition of the same direction usually occurs when the numbers of cut regions lying on either side of the RSP differ, or, when the regions are unevenly distributed on either side.

                        <p class="para_note_body">If you do not designate a cut regions selection point when using <b class="uiTerm">Bi-Directional</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Alternate</b>, the resulting method of cutting multiple regions will be the same as using <b class="uiTerm">Single Direction</b>.
