<p class="para_topic">Extend Drive Curve is an option found within the engage and retract setting of Teachmode. You can use this feature when you want to create overlapping tool paths or when your drive curve starts/ends within the in-process workpiece and you do not want to engage INTO but rather TO the blank. This function allows you to manually or automatically extend the drive curve at the start and end by a distance value or to the blank geometry. With this function, you can avoid having to define additional geometry in order to engage to the blank and then cut straight through material until the selected drive curve's start point is met. When retracting you can continue to cut straight, passing the drive curve's endpoint, until the tool can properly retract from the workpiece. In addition, this function lets you create overlaps with neighboring tool paths.</p>
