      <p class="para_topic">The Create Boundary dialog box displays when Mode in the Boundary Geometry dialog box is set to Curves/Edges or Points. When the Mode is set to Points, the Type option is replaced by the Point Method option. Each option within the Create Boundary dialog box is described below.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Type allows you to specify the boundary as either &nbsp;when creating the boundary from curves and edges.</p>

      <div class="title_figure">Open and Closed Boundaries</div>
      <div class="title_division"> Point Method (available when Mode is Points)</div>
      <p class="para_division">Point Method enables you to create closed boundaries from a sequence of defined points. The boundary direction and start point are defined in the same way when defining a sequence of points as when selecting a sequence of curves.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The one instance in which temporary boundaries can be created as nonassociative boundaries occurs when creating temporary boundaries from points, in which case you have the option of toggling the Associative button Off in the Point Constructor dialog box.</p>
      <p class="para_division">This method will always create a closed boundary which cannot be edited to become an open boundary.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Plane</div>
      <p class="para_division">Plane enables you to specify how the Boundary Plan will be defined. The boundary plane is the plane onto which the selected geometry will be projected and the boundary created.</p>

      <p class="para_division">The Boundary Plane may either be user defined or system defined.</p>
      <p class="para_division">User-Defined allows you to define a Boundary Plane using the Plane Subfunction.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Automatic allows the first two selected curves/edges or the first three defined points to establish the Boundary Plane. If the system cannot define a plane using the selected curves, edges, or points, the Boundary Plane is created on the XC-YC plane.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Automatic Plane is very useful in establishing the ZC level when selecting planar curves that are parallel to the XC-YC plane.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> When selecting contoured 3d curves or edges, if a specific boundary plane is desired (such as the XC-YC plane), the user-defined boundary plane should be used. Using Automatic with 3d curves can lead to unexpected results and is not recommended.</p>

      <div class="title_division"> Tool Position</div>
      <p class="para_division">The tool position determines how the tool will position when it approaches the boundary member. Boundary members may be assigned one of three tool positions: On, Tanto, or Contact.</p>

      <div class="title_division"> Custom Member Data</div>
      <p class="para_division">Custom Member Data allows you to set Tolerance, Side Stock, and Cut Feed Rate values for individual boundary members in much the same way as Custom Boundary Data allows you to set these values for the entire boundary. In addition, Custom Member Data allows you to define post commands.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Post Commands At Start allows you to define post commands that will be inserted at the beginning of each tool path that corresponds to the boundary segment you select.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Post commands assigned to the start and end of a boundary segment affect the tool path differently in the following operations:</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_division">Each boundary member may have as many as two sets of postprocessor commands. You may define a postprocessor command set at each end of the boundary member.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Each postprocessor command set may contain one or multiple postprocessor commands.</p>
      <p class="para_division">To insert postprocessor commands at the beginning of a boundary member, select the boundary member and choose Post Commands at Start&quot; Edit. Defining postprocessor commands at the end of a boundary member is done the same way except that you use the Post Commands at End option.</p>
      <p class="para_division">You may edit postprocessor commands that occur along a boundary member. Post commands defined along a boundary segment are called in-path post commands.</p>
      <div class="title_division"> Chaining</div>
      <p class="para_division">Chaining enables the system to automatically select a contiguous sequence of curves and edges. You are required to select a starting member and when necessary, an ending member. All contiguous members become selected for boundary geometry.</p>
      <p class="para_division">If you want to chain all of the edges that form a contiguous loop, select the first edge and choose OK.</p>

      <p class="para_division">The direction in which the system performs the chaining sequence (and the direction of the boundary indicators) is determined by your selecting the entity to one side or the other of its middle control point.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Remove Last Member allows you delete the last boundary member you created.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Create Next Boundary allows you to complete the creation of the current boundary and allows you to immediately start creating the next temporary boundary.</p>
