      <p class="para_topic">This example steps you through the process of creating an NC program for a Part that has been brought into the Manufacturing application for the first time. You will learn about the relationship between groups and operations and how parameters are inherited. You will learn how to create and modify groups and operations. You will reorder groups and operations and learn how to check for gouging. Finally, you will output machining data.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Open a Part that has not yet been saved within the Manufacturing Application.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select Application&gt;Manufacturing.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Because this is the first time this part has been brought into the Manufacturing, the Machining Environment dialog box displays requiring you to specify a Configuration file and a Setup.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Configuration files define the CAM working environment. They define the available machining processors, tool libraries. postprocessors, and other high level parameters for your session.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Setups are Template Part Files containing templates. They define the available Type options and groups that initially appear in the Operation Navigator, the Create Operation dialog, and the Create Group dialogs.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Select the cam_general configuration file, the mill_planar setup (a and b below) and the Initialize button (c).</p>

      <p class="para_topic">This displays the Program Order view of the Operation Navigator.</p>

            <p class="para_item">Be sure the Part is displayed in a TFR-ISO single view layout. Make the hidden edges invisible (right mouse button, Hidden Edges&gt;Invisible) so the Part displays as illustrated below.</p>

      <p class="para_topic">Later on, you will save this layout so that it can be easily retrieved when needed.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Throughout this scenario you will frequently change Operation Navigator views and frequently change from one Create Operation or Create Group dialog to another. The Operation Navigator continually displays on the screen. To change views of the Operation Navigator, choose an icon in the main menu bar. To invoke one of the create object (an object is a group or an operation) dialogs, choose the corresponding icon in the main menu bar.</p>
