               <p class="para_td">Plunge Cutting Zig represents a roughing strategy which is typically used with grooving tools.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Instead of plunging directly to the bottom of the groove, Plunge Cutting Zig Zag causes the tool to plunge to a specified depth of cut (Level Depth), then perform a series of plunge cuts to remove all the material at that depth. It then plunges again to the cut depth, and removes all material at that level. These series of cuts are performed back and forth in a zig zag pattern until the bottom of the groove is reached.</p>
               <p class="para_td">If you have set a depth of cut in the tool definition dialog (Max. Depth of Cut), the system plunges to this depth, providing it is less than the value given in the operation.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Plunge Cutting Alternate performs plunge cutting in such a way that each subsequent plunge is applied to the opposite side of the last plunge cut.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Plunge Cutting Castling achieves symmetric tool wear on both sides of the insert by offsetting consecutive plunge cuts in a way that &quot;towers&quot; remain in between after a first pass from one shoulder of the groove to the other. These towers are then cut away by a second pass in the opposite direction.</p>

      </table><br><p class="para_topic">You can only machine one groove at a time when plunge cutting. If you wish to cut more than one groove in a similar fashion, do the following:</p>

            <p class="para_item">Create the first grooving operation entering all required parameters.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Copy and paste this operation as many times as you have grooves to be cut. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In each of the operations, select the pertinent groove using Containment&rarr;Select Manually. </p>
         </li>
