      <p class="para_topic">Threading tools can be defined by the following attributes.</p>

               <p class="para_td">There are two options for insert shapes available: Standard and Trapezoidal</p>

               <p class="para_td">Left Angle</p>
               <p class="para_td">Right Angle</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">Both angles represent the deviation of the tool side edges from the orientation angle. The angles of an insert as shown above both have positive values.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Orientation Angle</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">The orientation angle is measured counter clockwise from the positive rotation axis. An outside diameter threading tool would have an orientation angle of 90 degrees.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Nose Radius for Standard Shape</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">The radius at the tip of the cutting insert that forms a full radius at the root of the thread.</p>
            </td>

               <p class="para_td">Nose Width for Trapezoidal Shape</p>

            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">The width of the flat at the end of the cutting insert that forms a flat at the root of the thread.</p>

         </tr>
      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Tip Offset</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The interpretation of the tip offset depends on the insert type being selected:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">For standard insert type it is the offset of the tool nose's bottom point to the tool's left flank as shown below.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>

            <p class="para_item">For trapezoidal insert type it is the offset of the right end of the tool's bottom edge to the left flank as shown below.</p>
         </li>

               <p class="para_td">represents the distance from turret reference point to tool tip, measured parallel to the centerline.</p>

               <p class="para_td">Y Offset</p>
            </td>
            <td bgcolor="#f4f4f4" colspan="1" rowspan="1">
               <p class="para_td">represents teh distance from turret reference point to tool tip, measured perpendicular to the centerline. </p>

         </tr>
      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The standard insert type covers the threading types Standard and Buttress from Unigraphics up to V15. This type allows for the specification of threading tools with symmetric or asymmetric V-profile (e.g. NPT or V-profile), as well as profiles with a radius (e.g. Whitworth or API rounded).</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The ACME threading tools as available in Unigraphics up to V15 can now be specified using the trapezoidal insert type.</p>
