      <p class="para_topic">Custom Engage Feed Rate allows you to specify a special engage feedrate for the current sub-operation only. After you select this option, enter the feed rate value.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Reference Point</div>
      <p class="para_division">The Reference Point position defines the near side of the Drive, Part, and Check surfaces. Clearly distinguishing the near side from the far side of each surface is important when engaging the tool. When using the Geometry option to engage the tool, you must specify a stopping position in relation to each of the three surfaces. The stopping position may be defined as the Near Side, Far Side, or Tangent To The Near Side of the selected surfaces.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body"> NOTE: Since the Reference Point position and the tool axis are used by the Sequential Mill processor to determine the point where the tool engages the material, the processor may be unable to calculate the desired point if the Reference Point is poorly chosen. If this is the case, the user must respecify the Reference Point at a position closer to the desired startup point while remaining on the same side of the Drive, Part, and Check Surfaces. In some cases, the user may also require the Direction Move and/or Side Indicator options on the Engage Geometry dialog for one or more of the surfaces in the Engage sub-operation.</p>

      <div class="title_figure">Reference Point Defines the Near Side of Each Surface.</div>
      <div class="title_division">Position</div>
      <p class="para_division">A reference point position is required to engage the tool. You may define a unique reference point position using the Point option in the following menu, or accept an existing tool position point. If, for example, you have previously defined a Start Point in Avoidance Geometry, then the reference point position defaults to Start Point. If, however, you have not yet defined a Start Point in Avoidance Geometry, then the Start Point menu option is non-selectable.</p>

      <p class="para_division">Undefined indicates that you have not yet specified a reference point. You must specify a new reference point position using the Point option, or select one of the existing point positions in this menu.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Point allows you to specify a reference point position using the Point Subfunction. Unlike the other options in this menu, Point does not utilize an existing tool position. This option is used to uniquely define a position as a reference point and does not add a point to the tool path.</p>
      <p class="para_division">From Point indicates that the From Point previously defined in Avoidance Geometry is the current reference point.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Start Point indicates that the Start Point previously defined in Avoidance Geometry is the current reference point.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Engage Point indicates that the Engage Point previously defined in Engage Method (using From a Point under Method) is the current reference point.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Previous Tool End indicates that the last tool position reached in the previously executed suboperation is the current reference point.</p>
      <div class="title_division">A Special Case</div>
      <p class="para_division">A Sequential Mill loop using Previous Tool End as the reference point position and satisfying the following conditions may produce a tool path as described below.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Conditions</div>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The start of the (outer) loop is not the very first suboperation in the operation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The start of the (outer) loop is an engage suboperation.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The status of the Reference Point Position option in the start of the (outer) loop is Previous Tool End.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_division">This case is best described by an example. Consider the following hypothetical operation:</p>
      <p class="para_division">Suboperation 1: Point to Point</p>
      <p class="para_division">Suboperation 2: Engage, Start of 3-pass loop</p>
      <p class="para_division">Reference Point Position = Previous Tool End</p>
      <p class="para_division">Suboperation 3: Continuous Path Motion</p>
      <p class="para_division">Suboperation 4: Retract, End of loop</p>
      <div class="title_division">Resulting Tool Path</div>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 1 is generated.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 2 is generated using the first pass loop stock. The Reference Point Position is the Previous Tool End, which is the final tool position reached in (1) above.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 3 is generated using the first pass loop stock.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 4 is generated using the first pass loop stock.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 2 is generated using the second pass loop stock. The Reference Point Position is the Previous Tool End, which this time is the final tool position reached in (4) above.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 3 is generated using the second pass loop stock.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 4 is generated using the second pass loop stock.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 2 is generated using the third pass loop stock. The Reference Point Position is the Previous Tool End, which now is the final tool position reached in (7) above.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 3 is generated using the third pass loop stock.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Suboperation 4 is generated using the third pass loop stock.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">Note that Previous Tool End means the last tool position reached in the suboperation that was generated right before the current suboperation. Before V13.0, the Reference Point Position was not updated correctly, so the Reference Point in (5) and (8) above was wrongly located at the same position as in (2) above. Similar remarks apply to the Previous Tool Axis status for the Reference Point Tool Axis option in an engage suboperation.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Tool Axis</div>
      <p class="para_division">Tool Axis allows you to specify the engage tool axis orientation at the reference point using one of the following options:</p>

      <p class="para_division">Zm-axis allows you to specify a tool axis aligned with the current Machine Coordinate System Z-axis.</p>
      <p class="para_division">Vector allows you to specify a tool axis aligned with a vector. The Vector Subfunction dialog appears.</p>
      <p class="para_division">From Tool Axis allows you to use the tool axis at the From Point (if specified).</p>
      <p class="para_division">Prev Tool Axis indicates that the last tool position reached in the previously executed suboperation is the current reference point.</p>
