THREAD - MDFG Options

After you select Thread you can choose to have the Thread
output in one of two methods.

The most common method is Multiple
Thread Cycle Output Blocks. The GPM generates four
separate blocks of output for the above sequence.

If you select the option, One
Thread Cycle Output Block then the GPM reads ahead and combines
the four motions into a single output
block. (This is primarily for Okuma controls.)

Regardless of your choice, you then have the following
options:

Lead Output As I And
K Or E Or F? - If you specify I and K are the Word Address codes
for Lead (or Pitch), then I represents the Lead for Face Threading and
K represents the Lead for turn threading. This is the most common.

If you specify E or F, then you will need to specify
the Fine and Finish options.

Maximum and
Minimum Lead - Enter the minimum
and maximum values that can be programmed.

Maximum RPM For Threading
- Enter the maximum RPM that can be programmed with the SPINDL command.
This is to restrict the spindle speed during threading operations.

G Code For Constant
Lead Thread - Specify the G code that the GPM is to output for
Constant (i.e., ordinary) Lead threading. This is usually G33.

G Code For Increasing
(Or Decreasing) Lead
Thread - Specify the G code that the GPM is to output for Increasing
or Decreasing Lead threading. Specify the INCR or DECR amount of increase
or decrease per inch using the GPM THREAD command.

Character Address For
Fine (threads) - You can specify a Word Address code that the GPM
outputs in the Threading block to establish a feed rate override percentage.
The value in the THREAD/..., FINE,n command is used to calculate the output
value.

Character Address For
Finish - This allows you to specify a Word Address code that the
GPM outputs for precision threading.

This option works in conjunction with the E and F mode
for Lead output.

If FINISH is
specified, and FINE is specified, an E code is output.

If FINISH is not
specified, and FINE is specified, the an F code is output.

Format For Variable
Lead Modifier - You can specify the Word Address format for the
increasing and decreasing lead codes.

M Code For Thread Turn
- You can specify an M code that the GPM outputs designating that the
threads are either parallel to or tapered to the Z axis.

M Code For Thread Face
- You can specify an M code that the GPM outputs designating that the
threads are either parallel to or tapered to the X axis.

Is Thread Code Modal
- You can specify whether the THREAD TURN and THREAD FACE M codes are
modal.
