      </table><br><p class="para_topic">Although the following procedure is applied to an NX feature, the geometry input can also be one of the following:</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">a single planar face </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Recognized features </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">UDFs</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">If you use a single planar face, the face must carry the CAM_FEATURE_NAME attribute to be identified by feature milling. </p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In a new part, create a block.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Bring in the NX feature RECTANGULAR_POCKET. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Position it with one side open so that the pocket becomes an open pocket with one floor and three walls. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Choose an appropriate dimension for the length and width as well as for the corner radius. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter the Manufacturing module and perform steps 2-8 in the  <a class="links" href="javascript:void(0)" onclick="top.openFile('mfgholemaking/fbmil_use_temp_subtyp.html');return(false);">Using Template Subtypes</a> section.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the Machining Feature Navigator, activate the feature by selecting Identify CAD/UD Features and selecting the RECTANGULAR_POCKET from the list. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select OK and take the feature over to the Machining Feature Navigator.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the feature.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the Create Geometry icon  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/ico_t_create_geometry.gif" border="0"> on the toolbar.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the FBM_GEOM icon.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Set the parent group to WORKPIECE. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the Name, field enter UG_OPEN_POCKET and click Apply. The system displays the FBM_GEOM dialog and the Information Window. </p>
            <p class="para_item">The Information Window reports the feature identification. The system tries to identify every feature in the feature tree (Feature Navigator).</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">In the FBM_GEOM dialog, select the Feature Type drop down menu and select RECTANGULAR_POCKET.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">All the feature parameters display in the Classification Criteria field.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select the CORNER RADIUS check box as the classification criteria.</p>
            <p class="para_item">When applying this template, the system creates feature groups based on this corner radius. All pocket features selected from the Machining Feature Navigator with the same corner radius are grouped together. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select OK and close the Information Window.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To make this feature group a template subtype select the feature group and MB3&rarr;Object&rarr;Template Setting&rarr;Template. The Operation Navigator displays a new feature group.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">To highlight the pocket feature in the Graphics Window, select MB3&rarr;Object&rarr;Display.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click Cancel and return to the Machining Feature Navigator. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Close the Manager. </p>
         </li>
      </ol>
