      </table><br><p class="para_topic">The General corner type covers the majority of stocking situations. It ensures a smooth corner surface at blends and sharp corners leading into the stocked surface as shown below:</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">The <b class="uiTerm">General</b> option is typically used for stock applied exclusively to one segment of a cylindrical or conical surface of the turning part. If the area to stock includes an additional fillet/round, select the <b class="uiTerm">Legacy</b> option instead.

      <div class="title_division">The General Corner Option for Linear Segments</div>
      <p class="para_division">For positive stock values, the system extends both segments' tangents after stocking to their intersection point, which becomes the new shared vertex after offsetting. For negative stock values, the chamfer gets longer or shorter, but does not change its angle. The relative orientation of any of the adjacent segments remains the same. With a concave corner, the system shortens the chamfer/segment that is adjacent to the offset segment. The stock line is extended to its intersection point with the chamfer. The chamfer keeps its angle but gets shorter. Use this option to create stock for finishing or grinding.</p>

      <p class="para_division">An exception to this behavior occurs if the intersection point of both tangents falls below the selected segment in the corner. If the intersection point does not intersect the stocked segment's tangent before the stocked segment's end point is reached (seen in boundary direction), a connecting segment (shown in green below) extends the chamfer tangentially. The figure shows a stocking exception where stock value entered  <img align="bottom" src="graphics/numa.gif" border="0"> and Actual stock left <img align="bottom" src="graphics/numb.gif" border="0"> when green extension line and successor segments of stocked edge do not meet

      <p class="para_division">In the case of arcs, the blend moves up or down, depending on whether you apply positive or negative stock. The arc's radius does not change, but its center and vertices do. This results in the following corner treatment:</p>
