            <p class="para_item">In the Modeling application, choose <b class="uiTerm">Tools</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Automotive Applications</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Die Design</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Flange Steel Assistant</b> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Flange Steel Assistant</b> dialog box. <b class="uiTerm">Flange Task</b> <img align="bottom" src="graphics/flange_task.gif" border="0"> is active, and available flange tasks are displayed in the list box.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select a flange task from the list. </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/flange_steel/flange_profile.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Flange Profile</b> and select a curve or edge(s) that define the shape of the end of the flange you want to create.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/flange_steel/flange_end.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Flange End</b> and select the profile that defines the end of the flange.
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/flange_steel/start_orientation.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Start </b> and specify a start point for a plane that defines the start of the flange profile to be analyzed. Click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/flange_steel/end_orientation.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">End </b> and specify an end point for a plane that limits the portion of the flange profile to be analyzed.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/trim_steel_assistant/sheet_metal.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm"> Sheet Metal</b> and select a sheet body that represents the shape of the sheet metal being flanged. 
            </p>

            <p class="para_item">Click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/common/die_centerline_csys.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Die Centerline CSYS</b> and select a CSYS that defines the press direction and the center of the die. The flanging direction will be the -Z of the CSYS.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Enter a value in the <b class="uiTerm">Overhang</b> box.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">From the <b class="uiTerm">Entrance</b> list, select an option and enter an associated value in the box.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Select either <b class="uiTerm">Maximum Length</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Number of Steels</b> as the calculation method to specify the type of trim steel distribution you want, and enter the associated value.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Specify the type of <b class="uiTerm">Joint Relief </b> you want to have at the start and end of the trim profile.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Do one or more of the following, depending on your design:</p>
            <ul>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">To set flange steel parameters, click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/flange_steel_assistant/flange_steel_parameters.gif" border="0"> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Flange Steel Parameters</b> dialog box.
                  </p>
               </li>
               <li>
                  <p class="para_item">To set controlling parameters for the automatic calculation of flange steel locations, click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/flange_steel_assistant/trim_steel_assistant_parameters.gif" border="0"> to open the <b class="uiTerm">Flange Steel Assistant Parameters</b> dialog box. 
                  </p>
               </li>

                  <p class="para_item">To flange on the opposite side of the flange profile, click <img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/dialogs/vehicle_automation/common/switch_flange_side.gif" border="0"> <b class="uiTerm">Switch Flange Side</b>.
                  </p>

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click the <b class="uiTerm">Calculate Steel Planes</b> button to preview the flange steels that will be created. You can make manual modifications, if required.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">(Optional) Click the <b class="uiTerm">Calculate Dowel and Bolt Holes</b> button to create points for defining dowel holes and bolt holes. Make any manual modifications you want
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Click <b class="uiTerm">OK</b> or <b class="uiTerm">Apply</b> to create the DIE_FLANGE_STEEL feature.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The flange steel feature is created n the current work part, if a part attribute does not exist in a part file in the current subassembly structure. If this attribute exists, the feature is created in the part file, with the title specified by the <b class="uiTerm">Creation Part Attribute Title/Reference Set Name</b> customer default for the respective die component. If a reference set exists in the part file with the specified name, then the output solid of the feature is added to that reference set.
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">If the <b class="uiTerm">Create Component</b> customer default is selected, then a new part file is created and added to the work part or the part file found as a component, and the flange steel is created in this new part file. 
            </p>
            <p class="para_item">The name of the new part file is the parent part file name with a suffix of an underscore and an incremented number (_1, _2, _3 &hellip;). The next unused number is used, filling in available gaps, based on names already in the assembly. If a file in the current subassembly has a part attribute title specified by <b class="uiTerm">Start Part Attribute Title</b>, then input data is linked from the part file it is in, first to this part file, and then to the final file.
            </p>
