      </table><br><p class="para_topic">This option lets you specify the pad dimensions for the die component you are building. Default parameters are applied based on the component being built, but you can select alternate geometry and dimension values.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Once you have defined the pad, individual pad elements are populated for each point/closed profile selected for the die component.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can use this utility to create components like air pin pads, equalizer block pads, bottoming blocks, retainer pads, gauge slots, guide pin pads, and wear plate bosses.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">The created pads and pockets are associative to the input geometry and update when the parent geometry is modified. </p>

               <p class="para_td">The Orientation Plane normal should typically point into the Pad &quot;solid&quot; area. The orientation normal is used to trim the solid properly and create the Pad surface face. &nbsp;If the orientation plane normal points away from the pad &quot;solid&quot; you may not get any solid creation (no boolean intersection with the main casting), or the results may be on the opposite side of the orientation plane since trimming was reversed.</p>

               <p class="para_td">In some cases, the icon for the Orientation and Limiting Surface will be switched. This usually indicates that the application inputs require a height to be entered on the Shape Parameters dialog. But it may also indicate needed user input. Many of the applications &quot;know&quot; the Limiting Surface (such as the Wear Plates for the Draw Die Punch, which is defined by an interior surface of the main wall), but require an Orientation input. Typically, the Orientation is required as user input and the Limiting Surface is not required.</p>

                     <p class="para_item">Pad Shapes are mutually exclusive and cannot be defined together. You can create all the children circular pads needed. Then define the rectangular children. And finally the shape driven children can be defined. This requires opening the parent dialog once for each child type desired.</p>

               <p class="para_td">When selected, a relief is created about the pad, with default dimensions.</p>
               <ul>

                     <p class="para_item">There are cases when the relief solid could degenerate and not build. Consider offsetting all the faces of the solid defined by the pad shape (circular, rectangular, curve defined). Could the offset delete a potential face completely? For Curve Defined, try a simple test. Extrude the curve into a solid. Then offset all the faces by the relief value.</p>
                  </li>
               </ul>
            </td>
         </tr>
      </table><br><p class="para_topic">For wear plates under Draw Die Punch, the behavior of the pad and pockets is modified such that the points you select are adjusted to the punch profile along the Orientation Plane normal. This maintains a consistent X,Y, or Z value for the points when mapped to a curve.</p>
      <p class="para_topic">Additionally, once you map a point to a curve you can offset it in two ways.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">The first is if you select a Location Offset Direction. In this case, the point is offset along the specified direction by the value of the Location Offset.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">If no Location Offset Direction is specified, the point is mapped to the base plane of the punch (along the base plane normal). The point is offset the Location Offset value along the base plane normal to find the center point on the punch wall.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <p class="para_topic">In both cases, it is the center point of the pad that is defined.</p>
