MPAW allows you to create a Datum Point on a DLF, and a Measurement Point on an MLF or DLF. MPAW displays Datum and Measurement Points using fonts different from the regular NX point. Datum and measurement points are used to indicate specific usage. Whereas a datum/measurement location feature indicates a critical area at the overall assembly level, the datum/measurement point specifies the usage of the DLF/MLF on a specific part or specific sub-assembly. These points are used by manufacturing to build and inspect tooling used to manufacture sheet metal assemblies.
