This function allows you to output a variety of curves useful in the development of a die. These curves include but are not limited to the punch opening line, addendum/binder tangency, and edge of blank.

To use this option you must first create a DIE_ADD_SECTION feature and supply one of the section curves from this feature as input. The system then displays key points of interest along that section. You can select any of these points to indicate that a curve is to be created through this key point on all of the sections.

A "T" is displayed at the location of the trim point in the section curve. A "C" is displayed at the location of the corrected trim point (based on geometrical and metal forming calculations) in the section curve. Selecting either of these points for creation of the trim line produces two curves: the curve located at the geometric trim point and the curve corrected for metal formability.

You can also specify limit points to control the length of the curve, and an offset value that causes the curve to be offset in a direction perpendicular to the punch direction.

The curves created here are "dumb" curves that have no associative relationship to any of the section curves from which they are derived. This means that the curves do not update when changes to other die engineering features are made.
