Use Dynamic Editing to have visual feedbacks during the design of die set casting, such as identifying interferences in a 2D plane, and make adjustments to the position of the feature dynamically. The dynamic editing and placement of die design tree sub-features enables you to dynamically adjust the position of a sub-feature prior to application of the actual model update. This makes the process of sub-feature definition faster as you can avoid updates after creating each sub-feature.

Handles are displayed after you select a tree feature from the tree list in the Part Navigator. You can then select the required handle and modify the associated values. When you select multiple tree features and then select a handle, the selection is spread over to the other tree features also. When the tree features are not associative to each other, after you select a dissimilar feature, the previously highlighted nodes are deselected.

Each sub-feature and its interactions are listed in the table below. Rounding is controlled by the screen resolution, or the zoom factor. A sub-feature can have many representations inside a die design tool. For example, Hole is represented as Dowel Holes, Bolt Holes, Vent Holes, and Coordinating Holes. You can store the representation of the movement internally as a point. A point can provide different results than a datum axis as input for the sub-feature (for example, a vent hole). If a representation such as a rectangle (for example, a pad), or a circle, has an extrusion distance, then the software forms a temporary solid. The temporary representation is only an approximation and may not show the exact representation upon build.
