      </table><br><p class="para_topic"><img align="bottom" src="../graphic_library/icons/toolbars/vehicle_automation/body_design/vehicle_coordinate_system.gif" border="0"> The <b class="uiTerm">Vehicle Coordinate System</b> command enables you to create, modify, or view a customized Vehicle Coordinate System (VCS) before using any<b class="uiTerm"> Body Design</b> or <b class="uiTerm">General Packaging</b> wizard. In the previous releases of NX, <b class="uiTerm">Body Design</b> or <b class="uiTerm">General Packaging</b> applications used the absolute coordinate system as the default. These applications allow greater flexibility now in working with different coordinate system orientations because you can create a customized VCS.
      </p>
      <p class="para_topic">You can define the VCS in the following ways:</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">By defining the VCS through the user interface.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">By setting the default to a company standard in the <b class="uiTerm">Customer Defaults</b> dialog box.
            </p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">By defining the VCS within any <b class="uiTerm"> Body Design</b> or <b class="uiTerm">General Packaging</b> wizard that requires a VCS as a reference. In the <b class="uiTerm">Customer Defaults</b> dialog box, if you select <b class="uiTerm">Show Confirmation Message for Automatic Creation</b> check box, a message indicating the current VCS appears. You can accept the default VCS or define a customized VCS.

      </ol>
      <p class="para_topic">A part file can only have one VCS. Once created, the definition of the VCS is locked and is automatically used by the <b class="uiTerm">Body Design</b> and <b class="uiTerm">General Packaging</b> wizards.

         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">Pre-defined Type II</b></p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item"><b class="uiTerm">User Defined</b></p>
         </li>

            <p class="para_item">Choose <b class="uiTerm">Modeling</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">File</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Utilities</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Customer Defaults</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Vehicle Design</b>-<b class="uiTerm">General Packaging</b>&rarr;<b class="uiTerm">Vehicle Coordinate System</b>.
