The MPAW features will be placed on the layer specified in the MPAW Preferences menu and the "creation geometry" will be placed on the appropriate layer as specified in the MPAW Preferences menu. The user may choose to create a separate MPAW file and retrieve component geometry into it, create the MPAW features in the same file as the part geometry or create a separate MPAW file and retrieve it as a component in an assembly containing the part geometry. We refer to this last method as design in context. If the MPAW features reside in this structure it is critical that when adding this file to the assembly the user specifies that geometry be represented on "original" layer. Doing this ensures that the MPAW features will be placed on the correct layer and be visible to the user.
