      <div class="title_division">Description</div>
      <p class="para_division">The distance from the flange tangency curve to the nearest trim object. Recall that trim objects are those objects that have a circumscribed shape greater than Pierce Limit value(?).</p>
      <p class="para_division">When flanging occurs after a trimming operation, the flange tangency curve must not be too close to a trim line. If flanging is occurring at the same time or before a trimming, then the Trim to Wall criteria is used and this criteria check is ignored.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Purpose</div>
      <p class="para_division">To determine if the trim line is too close to a flange.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Computational Method</div>
      <p class="para_division">The measurement for this check only considers distances 90 from the flange tangency curve.</p>
      <p class="para_division">For the Flange to Trim check we will first measure distances from sample points on the trim object to the flange tangency curve, and then measure distances from sample points on the flange tangency curve to the trimming curve. Below are the details for this measurement.</p>
      <ol type="1" start="1">
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Determine the line of minimum distance from each point on the trim object to the flange. If any minimum distance line intersects an end point of the flange tangency curve, the angle of intersection must be less than 90 or the minimum distance line is considered outside the value range.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">A nonconformance will be reported if any minimum distance line is not greater then the minimum allowable value.</p>
         </li>
      </ol>
      <p class="para_division">The picture below illustrates this check. The green lines represent the lines of minimum distance from sample points on the trim line to the flange. The red lines represent lines of minimum distance from sample points on the flange to the trim line.</p>
