      <p class="para_division">Measure the distance between cutout to cutout, cutout to perimeter, or perimeter to perimeter.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Purpose</div>
      <p class="para_division">To analyze whether additional operations or additions of a mounting foot and higher quality pad and trim steel materials are required to accomplish the necessary trimming.</p>
      <div class="title_division">Computational Method</div>
      <p class="para_division">There are three different cases for the trim to trim check.</p>
      <ul>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Are perimeters too close.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Are cutouts too close to each other.</p>
         </li>
         <li>
            <p class="para_item">Is a cutout too close to a perimeter.</p>
         </li>
      </ul>
      <div class="title_division">Cutout to Cutout or Cutout to Perimeter</div>
      <p class="para_division">If both objects are trimmed using the same trimming direction, and in the same die, then the distance between the 2 objects is computed in a plane normal to the common trimming direction (trimming view). This measurement is shown below.</p>

      <p class="para_division">If the trimming is performed in two different trimming directions, or in separate die operations, then the minimal three dimensional distance between the objects will be used to determine if they are too close. This measurement is shown below.</p>

      <div class="title_division">Perimeter to Perimeter</div>
      <p class="para_division">If no notches or tabs exist on the perimeter, then the DFM Advisor does not give any false nonconformance messages. If notches or tabs exist in the perimeter, then the Perimeter to Perimeter check will probably report these areas as a non-conformance. This is because no manual selection in the Trim Task feature, or shape recognition within the Perimeter to Perimeter check are currently supported. This check therefore requires some human interpretation to determine if an actual DFM non-conconformance really does exist at these locations.</p>
      <p class="para_division">The perimeter to perimeter distance is computed by taking an exterior perimeter curve, sampling it, creating planes perpendicular to this curve, and then intersecting these planes with the other exterior trim curves. This is shown below.</p>

                  <p class="para_note_body">  Evaluation of notches and tabs are currently outside the scope of this check. Although the displayed feedback for these areas may seem inappropriate, it can give the user the general size of the notches or tabs. If the dimensions are close to the limits for the perimeter to perimeter criteria, then the user should manually check the distances.</p>
